Octane Raceway is putting the final touches on the new racetrack that is set to open at the Pavilions at Talking Stick in a few weeks. After ten years, Octane is raising the bar by moving their business from the current Phoenix location to a modern facility in Scottsdale that will house the only permanent indoor and outdoor racetrack in the United States. A final celebration is planned at the Phoenix location throughout the upcoming 4th of July holiday weekend. When the party is over, the Phoenix location will close for a fluid transition into the Scottsdale venue.

“For many months, the excitement has been building about our move to the Pavilions at Talking Stick,” states Scott Sanders, president of Octane Raceway. “From the moment we started thinking about a new location, our sole focus has been to deliver the best racing experience imaginable. Because of the dedicated Octane staff, our valued partners and loyal racing fans, we know that this new facility will offer the best of the best. One of our regular racers, who previewed the Scottsdale venue, put it very succinctly saying it is the ‘Holy Grail of Kart Racing’.”

OR Kart Racer_SmallTheir current Phoenix facility, located at 48th and Washington Streets, is going out in style with a final celebration from July 4 – 7. Octane will be open on July 4 from 11 a.m to 8 p.m. and as a way of thanking customers for their continued patronage since 2003, they are offering a free race at their new Scottsdale facility to anyone who purchases two races during the final weekend in Phoenix. To share the memories and excitement of the Phoenix facility, Octane encourages customers to post photos and videos to Instagram tagging #OctaneMemories & @OctaneRaceway. The last day of business for the Phoenix location is Sunday, July 7, with the doors permanently closing at 8 p.m.

The Grand Opening of the new facility at the Pavilions at Talking Stick takes place July 19 – 21 with special activities all weekend long. The public is welcome to join in the celebration, tour the new facility, and then experience the thrill of the new racetrack. The Trackside Bar & Grill will have food and drink specials all weekend. On Saturday, July 20, beginning at 7 p.m., meet and mingle with the Hooters Girls and don’t miss their featured race as they fly through the one-third mile track.

Specifically designed for the venue, the track layout is unique in that each lap begins indoors then winds through an outdoor section of the course before returning inside. Air walls separate the indoor and outdoor track sections, which drivers are able to navigate seamlessly. For temperature and element control, the outdoor portion is covered with a permanent steel canopy and has a misting system throughout the track.

The new venue is 65,000 square feet of entertainment options and meeting spaces with an on-property restaurant and bar. The meeting spaces have full conference amenities with state-of-the-art audiovisual capabilities and can be set up in many styles according to group needs like boardroom, theater, conference or dining room formats. The facility can easily accommodate groups of up to 500 and boasts a 5,000 square foot outdoor patio giving a relaxed environment for happy hours, post-racing analysis and family time. The event planning staff manages all details for corporate meetings, team building events, and social gatherings like birthday celebrations, graduation parties and any type of group get together.

“The new location is highly visible providing easy access to our existing customer base in Tempe, Mesa, Chandler and Phoenix,” says Sanders on their new geography. “We are now in the center of Scottsdale just minutes from the Scottsdale Airpark and North Phoenix business districts. I am very proud of the first class operation we are building, bringing both indoor kart racing and corporate event planning to the next level. We’re looking forward to the next chapter of Octane Raceway in the Pavilions at Talking Stick.”
