Meet the Models spotlights each and every model featured in Scottsdale Living — so you can get to know them better.

Up next on Meet the Models, meet Jeanna Jeanna, who not only graces the cover of our Spring 2012 with that retro-fabulous cap, but she can also be found within the same issue donning KKINI‘s Monroe Bathers Tank, which you can find at Exquisite Swimwear.

How did you start modeling?

In 2001 in Georgia, I saw a flier for a fashion show. They needed models, and I didn’t  know anyone that side of the Mississippi so I figured, “Why not?” That day opened up the door for me to be signed with Elite, New York, L’Agence and The Talent Group, Atlanta & Paolo Tomei, Milan. I was a dental assistant at the time and now a nurse, and it has always been a fun hobby.

What type of modeling do you like the most and why?

I like editorial and glamour. They feel the most fun, and I like when there is a funky creative edge that is inspiring the shoot.

What is your favorite shoot you’ve done and why?

There are so many that were fun and could easily be a favorite. I loved shooting in Italy and overcoming the language barrier added to it. Studio and closed-set shoots are great, too, because people seem to be more relaxed and act like themselves. Anything with a great makeup artist and lots of free flow creativity is a good time.

What advice would you give to someone interested in modeling?

Go to school and get a degree in something that will last because your looks won’t and people respect intelligence over beauty at the end of the day.
