Boards aren’t just for the beach. During September’s National Yoga Month – and beyond – Arizonans can try their (balancing) hand at a new and invigorating twist on yoga at Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa.

Open to both locals and resort guests, Standup Paddle Board Yoga amplifies fitness for the mind and body, taking advantage of Phoenix/Scottsdale’s largest and most picturesque infinity-edged pool.

The relaxing, rhythmic sound of lapping water is juxtaposed by the physical and mental effort required to stay afloat on the specially-designed boards. It’s a class designed for seasoned yogis and newbies alike, as it moves through a sequence of yoga postures that can be modified for every level.

Classes are $55 and require advanced registration.
