Trying on Plastic Surgery for Size? There's an app for that

“Selfies” have just been given a new purpose. With the Plastic Surgery Simulator app, users can use photos of themselves to see what plastic surgery could do for them. This app allows users to simulate various plastic surgeries including removing bags from under their eyes, narrowing their face, modifying their smile, shaping their nose, and breast or buttock augmentation or reduction.
“Surprisingly, apps like the Plastic Surgery Simulator are a very helpful tool allowing patients to show what they hope to achieve with a procedure when they visit a doctor for a consult,” said Dr. Daniel Shapiro of Shapiro Plastic Surgery and Skin Klinic in Scottsdale. “We use a similar technology in the office called ‘imaging’ when we simulate a patient’s results before they have surgery, and now they can experiment with different procedures before they even see a doctor,” he said.
This free app works by uploading either a head or full body shot to the app. The user then simply uses his or her finger to modify any part of the picture. The app also shows a before and after image that can be uploaded to their social networking site called Befaft.com where users can rate and comment on the photos.
