As 2012 slowly comes to a close, planning for upcoming spring weddings should become top priority for soon-to-be newlyweds.

With spring slowly on the horizon it’s important to purchase the most crucial piece for a spring wedding: the wedding dress. And, shopping for a wedding dress is no easy task. With so many designs and styles, it can be very easy to get overwhelmed by the plethora of choices available to the fashion forward bride.

Luckily, Aida “DeDee” Madonia, owner of The Quintessential Bride and Formal Wear located in DC Ranch Crossing, has a strong background in couture fashion and is ready to help the Scottsdale bride find the perfect wedding dress.

All of the dresses in Madonia’s store are by recognized couture designers. “Nothing in our store is mass produced,” Madonia says. “Our dresses are stunning statement pieces that are not found in other stores.

“I take great pride and pleasure in carrying only apparel made in America, France and Italy. You won’t find any mass-produced pieces in our salon, especially those made in China,” she adds.

During your hunt for the perfect dress, keep these six spring 2013 wedding dress trends in mind:

Color

More and more wedding dresses are using splashes of vibrant color to create a true statement piece, leaving the white behind. What better way to turn heads than to wear something other than the traditional, white wedding dress? Brides are showing up to their big day in lipstick red, powder blue and even cotton-candy pink wedding dresses. No color is too wild or too bold. It’s especially important when searching for the perfect-colored wedding dress to look for colors that complement your skin tone and dresses that still stay true to wedding dress form.

While most women probably don’t want to draw attention to their hips, these couture-styled wedding dresses have a slight pouf at the hip that can actually make your waist look smaller. This high-fashion look can be described as both sexy and graphic.

Portrait Backs

Showing a little a skin at your wedding can sometimes be a risky move when you’re going a more sophisticated look. A wedding dress with a little skin exposed and intricate decoration in the back can show off your risky side while still being modest. This dress pays special attention to the back of the dress, considering that most of time your back will be the only part of you that’s visible to your guests.

Lace Nouveau

“Lace wedding dresses are typically for the more mature, sophisticated bride,” says Madonia. While most people typically think of lace as dated and old-fashioned, a lace nouveau dress uses lace to turn a typical wedding dress into one that is modern and elegant.

Transformers

No, we’re not talking about a bridal gown that also functions as a car. These gowns often have removable skirts, trains and capes so the bride can make that transition from the ceremony to the reception while wearing the exact same dress. Many brides lean towards purchasing a transformer dress because they can get two completely different dresses for the price of one.

Short Dresses

Lastly, short wedding dresses and dresses that are “blinged out,” according to Madonia, are also making an appearance in the wonderful world of bridal dresses.

The Quintessential Bride also sells cocktail dresses, dresses for the mother of the bride, semi-formal dresses and black-tie apparel. You can also buy handmade jewelry.

“My primary customer is a sophisticated woman in her thirties to sixties who is looking for a special occasion gown that she won’t see on anyone else in the room,” Madonia says. “I’m especially excited about our stunning new selection of cocktail dresses for the upcoming holidays!”

The Quintessential Bride will be celebrating the grand opening of its luxurious new salon with a party this November. For more information about The Quintessential Bride or to schedule an appointment, call (480) 419-7755 or visit qbrideandformals.com.
