Phoenix’s Coronado Neighborhood is recognized by popular Cooking Light website.

Cooking Light’s (www.CookingLight.com) “Hidden Gems & Delicious Destinations” feature offers a fresh glimpse into the thrilling foodie ferment that is bubbling across America today—city by city, neighborhood by neighborhood, even street by street. The feature is in the July issue, on newsstands Friday, June 15th.

Phoenix’s Historic Coronado Neighborhood’s preservation efforts have led to a culinary revival of sorts: the neighborhood’s meticulously restored homes now house some of the best eateries in the city, such as the Main Ingredient Ale House & Café, Rice Paper Eatery, Coronado Cafe, and 1950s union hall-turned-home-turned-restaurant Tuck Shop.

“We are living through the delicious coming-of-age story of our own food culture, written in thousands of kitchens, food shops, and restaurants across the land,” says Editor Scott Mowbray. “I call it the Great American Food Revolution because changes in taste start locally. In our ‘Hidden Gems & Delicious Destinations’ feature we give consumers our picks for the surprising scenes across the country that promise tasty times ahead.”

The “Hidden Gems & Delicious Destinations” list includes up-and-coming neighborhoods (the sustainable seafood scene building in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood), fun, funky food stores (San Francisco’s Bi-Rite Market), urban food markets (Detroit’s Eastern Market), and everything in between.
