The bird flu in the Midwest wiped out close to 8 million turkeys this year, according to recent reports. The U.S. Department of Agriculture expects the price of turkey to rise.

In response to the turkey shortage, local restaurant, Cibo e Vino, is collecting turkeys this holiday season and donating them to local food bank, Vista del Camino, to help those who need turkeys most.

In exchange for the turkey donation, people will be given a $10 gift card that can be used on their next visit at Cibo e Vino. Owner and executive chef, John Collura, is available to talk about the collection. If anyone is interested, they can drop off turkeys from now through Christmas.

Vista del Camino is a partner with Concerned Citizens for Community Health (CCCH). CCCH’s primary focus is to stimulate public awareness and promote the establishment and expansion of health and human services in the community. The organization partners closely with the City of Scottsdale Human Services Division to raise funds to prevent homelessness, increase self-sufficiency and provide basic needs to Scottsdale residents in crisis.
