With the craze of the holiday season over, it’s time to sit back and relax — that is, after all your cleaning and organizing is done. Because, let’s be honest; there are many things that get overlooked and pushed back on your “to do” list. It’s time to enjoy the first month of the New Year by cleaning out your home, and therefore, your mind. Here are some of my favorite necessities for an organized home.

Storage binsAre you like me and have numerous of magazines piled up, but cannot seem to toss them out because you may want to look at them one day? Store your magazines properly by name and year of magazine. Storage bins do not always have to be clear plastic ones; so many companies make ones that look great in your office. West Elm and The Container Store make bins in all shapes, sizes and colors for your organizing pleasures. |

AgendasBecause it’s a New Year, that means I get a new agenda! I cannot live without my agenda; I am so busy, it’s hard for me to remember where I have to be. I love the idea that I can just go to the day and see what appointments I have. It’s the best way for me to organize my life. So many of my favorite designers (like Hermès) make beautiful agendas; so do some research and buy your favorite. |

New dresserThe New Year is a great time to go through your closet and get rid of the items you haven’t worn in over one calendar year.
