La Maison Interiors named a Retail Star

La Maison Interiors has been named one of Home Accents Today’s 50 Retail Stars for 2014 by editors of the premier trade magazine for the home accents industry.

The annual list, now in its 10th years, recognizes independent brick-and-mortar retailers of home accents, including furniture stores and interior design boutiques, who are creative in their merchandising, have a positive presence in their local communities and are distinguishing themselves from the competition. The Retail Stars list is not a ranking, and is not based on sales volume.

The businesses named to the list are based in 21 state with Texas and California contributing seven and five stores, respectively. This year’s diverse group, 90% of which operate in a single location, ranges in size from A Studio, a 400-sq-ft. shop situated on Michigan’s scenic “Tunnel of Trees’ Highway, to the 1.2 million – sq-ft. showroom of Furnitureland South.

A third of the stores are ringing up annual sales in excess of $3 million, and 10 stores are at $5 million and above.

“The retail climate is changing faster than ever before, and it takes a lot of effort to stay on top in these changing times,” said Jenny Heinzen York, editor in chief of Home Accents Today.

“The 2014 Retail Stars exemplify excellence in independent retail and are true role models for their innovation, customer service, marketing and merchandising strategies which make them leaders among their peers. This honor recognizes all their skills, not to mention their hard work, and should serve as a reminder to us all to support local businesses.”

Members of the home furnishings industry were invited to suggest stores and retailers were encouraged to submit information describing their businesses. The list was compiled and narrowed down by research analysts and editors of the publication.

“We are humbled and honored by this award,” said Alan Reinken, co-founder of La Maison Interiors. “We are approaching our third anniversary and are incredibly grateful to our clients, colleagues, family and friends who continue to support us.”

Showrooms: La Maison Interiors

La Maison Interiors: Owners Alan Reinken and Davinder Chawla tell us why La Maison stands apart from the rest

Who is the showroom designed for?

The showroom is designed for clients looking for unique furnishings merchandised in a chic, yet approachable environment. We were fortunate to have an architecturally beautiful showroom to start. From there, we used our merchandising talents to create beautiful vignettes featuring today’s styles — urban traditional, classic contemporary and casual European.

Could you please talk about your products and services?  What do you have to offer clients?

La Maison InteriorsWe feel we have the best customer service in Arizona when it comes to listening to the client’s needs and desires. Ours is a business of interpreting those needs and desires to create beautiful rooms and homes whether it’s simply a new sofa or an entire remodel. In addition to our incredible selection of furnishings at La Maison Interiors, we offer an award-winning team of designers who are well versed in everything from furniture selection and remodel to specifications for a custom built home.

We have an exclusive line of furnishings selected specifically to be tailored to the client’s needs.

What’s one item in the showroom you love to show off?

La Maison InteriorsReinken: A large, black, hand-carved bookcase, which can be adapted in height and width, comes in 30 finishes and can be delivered in four weeks. It’s spectacular.

Chawla: A contemporary sofa with gorgeous sleek lines upholstered in luxurious fabric and leather.

How is your showroom unique?

We feel that our showroom offers what we have heard clients ask for over the years — unique, quality, one-of-a-kind furnishings; fantastic lamps and accessories; and amazing art. Our furnishings are individually hand-selected from small factories around the world and everything is purchased with our client’s special needs in mind.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

Thank you to those clients who have shopped with us since we opened on September 1st, and we look forward to welcoming new clients to our “ home” — La Maison Interiors. We want you to experience a truly unique home furnishings store; it’s unlike any other.
