OnTrac bringing 850 jobs to Chandler

OnTrac, the leader in regional overnight package delivery service in the eight Western States, is moving its corporate headquarters to Chandler.

The new offices are located in the Price Corridor at 2501 S. Price Road. The new building provides the company with additional space and the opportunity for future growth. It will also allow OnTrac to grow its company culture and continue raising the bar for OnTrac’s standard of excellence. The company will occupy 65,000 square feet of space in the building.

“We’ve begun construction and will spend in excess of $5 million on the relocation of our corporate headquarters,” said Rob Humphrey, President of OnTrac. “And, we expect to bring more than 850 jobs to the City of Chandler over the term of the lease.”

“Chandler’s central location and quick access to the interstate and freeways make it an excellent choice for businesses that have a diverse workforce,” said Jay Tibshraeny, Mayor of Chandler. “We are seeing the benefits of that as businesses such as OnTrac and other notable companies choose to locate in the Price Corridor.”

OnTrac joins other employers in the Price Corridor in key industries of Aerospace, Life Sciences, High Technology R&D/Manufacturing and Advanced Business Services.

OnTrac is currently occupying space in Phoenix until improvements are completed.

Tucson lands building systems manufacturer

Building systems manufacturer Aris Integration has announced that it will be locating its corporate headquarters in Tucson.

Manufacturing operations are expected to begin in 2013, and the company expects to hire nearly 600 workers over the next five years.

Aris will make customizable wall panel systems from light-gauge steel framing and foam insulation for residential and commercial buildings.

The company will also offer design and engineering services for its building systems.

United Kingdom-based Fusion Building Systems will be a partner in Aris’ new factory.

Aris officials say the pool of experienced construction workers was among the reasons the company chose southern Arizona.

Regional economic development officials welcomed Wednesday’s news, saying more manufacturing businesses will contribute to a stronger economy.

Discount Cab Unveils New West Valley Driver Center

Discount Cab, subsidiary of Total Transit, has today opened a new, state-of-the-art facility next to its Glendale headquarters to be used exclusively for Discount Cab operations. A ribbon cutting, held in conjunction with members of the Glendale Chamber of Commerce, officially opened the center. Among the center’s features are a new internet lounge and facilities for improved driver check-in and check-out. The second story of the facility is now home to the new Discount Cab call center, one of the largest taxicab call centers in the nation with 24/7 and multilingual support.

Discount Cab anticipates a ten percent increase in need over the next year for drivers, so company recruiters were on-site during the grand opening to meet with those seeking a new career as a driver. A raffle and lease specials were held for existing drivers during the grand opening, and social media contests will be held all week to celebrate the opening of the new center.

Reflecting the company’s mantra of being “Safe, Clean & Green,” Discount Cab featured a green carpet at the opening event, which, along with vintage vehicles, provided for excellent photo opportunities. A live DJ set the tone for a fun day of food, a screening of the film Taxi, networking, guided tours of the facility and more.

“I’m very proud to open this new Driver Center next door to our corporate headquarters,” stated Total Transit CEO Craig Hughes. “The new center shows our employees and independent contractor drivers that we care about their success. It is also a symbol of all that we’ve accomplished together and anticipates our continuing growth.”
