Blue Martini

Drinks & Giveaways At Blue Martini's Little Black Dress Event [PHOTOS]

On July 21 at CityCenter of CityNorth, Blue Martini hosted its popular Little Black Dress event, considered one of its largest events of the year. Ladies slipped into their sexiest LBD looking to sip on some specialty drinks, enjoy some live music by the Instant Classics (followed by DJQ), and cross their fingers in hopes that their name is called as one of the lucky raffle winners. But this wasn’t an ordinary raffle, mind you.

The Little Black Dress event was created as a getaway, an oasis for ladies to beat the heat, while also offering the chance to win some incredibly luxurious prizes, ranging from the $100s to $1,000s — including a Louis Vuitton Handbag, Christian Louboutin stilettos, JW Marriott Desert Ridge “staycation” spa package, a rejuvenation package by Perfect Skin Laser Center and more.

And, at the bar, Blue Martini had American Harvest Bottle specials, 42 superior martinis as well as a new tapas food menu. (You’ll have to head over to Blue Martini to find out what’s on the menu!)

The event attracted hundreds of guests; and, our very own Glory Shim was there to capture every moment. Check out her photos from Blue Martini’s Little Black Dress event:

Celebrity Fight Night Foundation Adds Three New Board Members

Celebrity Fight Night, one of the nation’s premier charity events, today announced three new additions to its Board of Directors: Mark Cavanaugh, Jon Hunter, and Hope Leibsohn. These are the first additions to the board since 2004.

Cavanaugh, Sr. Vice President and CFO of Firetrace USA, has supported Celebrity Fight Night throughout the years. He and his business partner, Bill Eckholm continue to be Celebrity Fight Night Founders Club members and premier table sponsors.

Leibsohn, a prominent estate planning attorney with Sherman & Howard, will bring a welcome perspective to the board as a successful businesswoman in the community.

Today, more than 1,200 guests attend the annual event to accompany Muhammad Ali and other A-List celebrities. Over the past 18 years, Celebrity Fight Night has raised $80 million for the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center and other charities. Celebrities and professional athletes from around the U.S. join Muhammad Ali each year for this celebrity-filled night complete with live auction items and musical performances by many of today’s brightest stars. Celebrating Entrepreneurship ~ Nominations Open For Spirit Of Enterprise Awards

Their entrepreneurship helps create new jobs and boost our economy. That’s why we should all be involved in celebrating the importance of Arizona’s best businesses.

You can honor your favorite Arizona company by nominating it for the 2012 Spirit of Enterprise Awards from the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. The awards recognize firms that demonstrate ethics, energy and excellence in entrepreneurship. Past winners include well-known companies, such as Cold Stone Creamery, China Mist, Grand Canyon Railway and Ollie the Trolley, as well as smaller businesses that set a great example.

“We want to acknowledge the companies that really make a difference, creating a positive culture both internally and in our community as a whole,” explains Gary Naumann, director of the Spirit of Enterprise Center at the W. P. Carey School of Business.

Anyone can nominate a company, as long as it meets the following criteria:

  • A for-profit enterprise in business for at least four years;
  • Incorporated, headquartered or having a majority of its business operations in Arizona;
  • With three or more full-time employees;
  • Able to demonstrate profitability over the last three years combined.

In addition, one minority-owned business will receive the Gary L. Trujillo Minority Enterprise Award sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona.

The nomination process is starting this week. Companies must complete and turn in an awards application by July 31.

Winners will be announced Nov. 1 at the 16th annual Spirit of Enterprise Awards event. Hundreds of Valley business and community leaders are expected to attend the awards luncheon at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa in Phoenix.

For more information on nominating a company, applying for the awards or attending the luncheon, please call (480) 965-0474 or visit www.spiritofenterprise.org.

These awards are just one focus of the Spirit of Enterprise Center, which helps hundreds of businesses each year. The center offers companies the chance to recruit and meet with top student talent, while also allowing students to get hands-on business experience. One key program, Student Teams for Entrepreneurship Projects (STEP), matches teams of W. P. Carey School of Business students with Valley companies to help tackle real-world challenges and opportunities. Companies can also use the center to access other ASU business resources. The center is self-funded and utilizes community sponsorships and volunteers to sustain its activities.
