Attorney Enhances Bryan Cave’s Corporate Practice in Phoenix

The international law firm Bryan Cave LLP announced that Marcel Valenta has joined the firm’s Phoenix office as Of Counsel. He will practice within the firm’s Transactions and Corporate Finance and Securities practice groups.

“We are delighted to welcome Marcel to the firm,” said Jay Zweig, managing partner of Bryan Cave’s Phoenix office. “He will be a valuable addition to the firm’s international corporate practice as well as enhance the expertise we offer to clients in our Phoenix office.”

Valenta has more than 10 years of experience advising U.S. and foreign clients on acquisitions, divestures, joint ventures, strategic alliances and other business transactions. He also devotes a significant amount of time to representing emerging growth technology companies in an array of venture capital, private equity, securities and strategic transactions.

Before joining Bryan Cave, Valenta was Senior Corporate Counsel handling mergers and acquisitions and commercial transactions for Hewlett-Packard Company in Palo Alto, California. Prior to his career with HP, Valenta practiced in the Silicon Valley office of an AM Law 100 global law firm specializing in mergers and acquisitions and venture financings.

Valenta has an international background. He studied law at the University of Florence in Italy and received a J.D. from Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany in 1999. After moving to the United States, he received his LL.M. (2000) and J.D. (2003) from Northwestern University School of Law. He is fluent in English and German and conversational in Italian. Valenta is admitted to practice in Arizona, California and Illinois.

KJZZ Announces Board of Directors

KJZZ is pleased to announce the appointment of 2013 officers and members to serve on the Board of Directors for Friends of Public Radio Arizona (FPRAZ).  Mark Dioguardi, Co-founder and Partner at Dioguardi Flynn, LLP, Todd Sanders, President and CEO of the Phoenix Chamber of Commerce, Steve Curley, Senior Vice President at Alliance Bank of Arizona and Laura Martin, Director of Science Interpretation at the Arizona Science Center were recently selected to return for another term as officers for 2013.

Mark Dioguardi, will return as Chairman, Todd Sanders as Vice Chairman, Steve Curley as Treasurer and Laura Martin as Secretary.  Other board members chosen to serve a second term include Luis Ramirez as Chair of Tequilazona Committee, Jennifer Hadley Dioguardi as Chair of First Press, Larry Ashkin as Chair of Community Engagement Outreach and Laura Martin as Secretary.

The Friends of Public Radio Arizona Board of Directors is comprised of community leaders who truly appreciate the value of public radio.  These individuals are committed to improving the accessibility and quality of public radio throughout Arizona for all residents.

The FPRAZ 20-member board of community leaders was founded in 2001 to assure the vitality and future excellence of central Arizona’s public radio stations, KJZZ 91.5 and KBAQ 89.5, through stewarding all membership revenue and charitable contributions made to these stations.

Law firm opens Arizona office

Medical negligence and personal injury firm Hodes Milman Liebeck, LLP has announced the opening of its Phoenix office, renaming the firm to Hodes Milman Liebeck Mosier, LLP and adding attorneys Robert A. Mosier and Robert K. Scott.  Mosier, managing partner of the Arizona office, represents plaintiffs in a variety of personal injury and medical negligence matters.  Scott, Of Counsel to the firm, is a respected trial attorney specializing in all aspects of bad faith insurance litigation.

With more than 30 years’ experience, Scott has obtained multi-million dollar judgments, lucrative out-of-court settlements and substantial arbitration awards on behalf of his clients. His areas of legal practice include disability, life and accidental insurance, fire and property insurance, health insurance, catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, wrongful termination and consumer law.
