Music and festivals highlight week’s best bets for fun

Scottsdale and Baseball

Scottsdale has been home to Baseball since the 1920’s and the Scottsdale Library is out to prove it. Scottsdale’s leading historian will present the evolution of the favorite past time through a photo presentation. After the presentation, attendants are encouraged to head to Scottsdale Stadium to enjoy a game between the San Francisco Giants and Milwaukee Brewers.

Man’s best friend meets man’s favorite sport. Baseball fans are encouraged to bring their four legged friends to the Peoria Sports Complex for a day of Bark in the Park. The San Diego Padres will host the Texas Rangers that day. Fans will sit in a reserved “PAW-tio” section. If you don’t already have a companion, the Waggin’ Wheels Mobile Adoption Vehicle will be at the event for fans to check out the adoptable pups. Proceeds from the event will go to benefit the Arizona Humane Society.

After the race, stick around for the Color Fun Fest where black lights are turned on and the powder glows. The money raised from the race goes to benefit Just Care More, a non-profit organization that gives underprivileged youth the chance to get involved with fitness related activities.
