Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers come to Pepsi Amphitheater

Pepsi Amphitheater has presented the nationally renowned Arizona talent Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers with special guest Cracker, and tequila tasting to raise the celebratory spirit on Sat., July 4, at 8pm.  Gates open and tequila tasting begins at 6:30pm.

Over the last 17 years, Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers, the Arizona-based quartet, has delivered vivid lyrics, addictive guitar riffs, and a full-bodied rhythm section on more than a dozen studio and live albums. The Independent marks the group’s newest release and seventh studio effort, which raises a metaphorical glass to the road less traveled and champions the courageous. The Spanish-infused rock album that produced top songs “Ain’t Got the Words For This” and “Right Where We Want ‘Em” debuted at #9 on Billboards Internet Album Sales chart and reached #4 on iTunes Rock chart.

Roger Clyne’s award-winning tequila, Mexican Moonshine, also will make an appearance among the varieties offered at the Tequila Tasting.  Mexican Moonshine Tequila has three varieties: Silver, Reposado and Añjeo and is distilled in Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico, boasting many awards including San Francisco World Spirits Competition gold medal, Spirits of Mexico gold medals and Tequila.net Best of the Best award. The distillery uses a clean, sustainable and progressive process that removes impurities from the waste water. Tequila tasting is $20 for 10 half-ounce tastes.

A Flag Fourth.  4th of July at Pepsi Amphitheater kicks off with A Flag Fourth and the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra Independence Day Concert at 2pm.  The annual FREE concert tradition occurs thanks to support from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona and Coconino County, and is conducted by Jon Eder.  Gates open at 12:30pm; all are welcome.

LOCATION. Pepsi Amphitheater at Fort Tuthill County Park is located within the Fort Tuthill Coconino County Park complex, 2446 Fort Tuthill Loop, Flagstaff, AZ 86001. Fort Tuthill County Park is west of I-17, Airport Exit 337.  This summer, patrons will be directed during road construction to the best access routes.  Once inside Fort Tuthill Park, patrons can follow the loop road and “County Fairground” signs until reaching the ‘Amphitheater’ sign.


Flagstaff Wine & Food Festival set June 7

On June 7th, Friends of Coconino County Parks will host the 6th Annual Flagstaff Wine & Food Festival, sponsored by Findlay Toyota in Flagstaff. The event will be held at Pepsi Amphitheater at Fort Tuthill Park, an outdoor venue that sits among the beautiful pines of the Coconino National Forest. Thousands are expected to attend this year’s event.

The festival brings a blend of wine, beer and gourmet local food, offering guests the opportunity to sample international and domestic wines, spirits, craft beers and food from some of Northern Arizona’s most popular restaurants. Participating restaurants include Zenith Steakhouse at Twin Arrows Casino Resort, Horsemen Lodge, Sakura at Flagstaff’s DoubleTree Resort, The McMillian Bar and Kitchen, Sally’s BBQ and Pita Jungle, among others. Wine and spirits are provided by Southern Wine & Spirits, while Golden Eagle Distributors will provide craft beer. Sponsor SubZero/Wolf will provide the stage for free cooking demonstrations by some of the top chefs in Flagstaff.

Friends of Coconino County is a nonprofit which hosts several events annually. Proceeds from these events supplement the Coconino County Parks and Recreation Department’s budget in order to support the parks system. 100% of the proceeds from this event will go to Friends of Coconino County Parks, which will benefit land conservation, park development, volunteerism, and recreational activities. “The Coconino Parks Department does a fantastic job making sure that these facilities are the best, and this is a group of individuals that want to help out the cause and make it better,” says Chairman Steve Hoshor.

Tickets are $37, and guests will get four wine or beer tastings, a souvenir wine glass, and unlimited gourmet food samples. Additional wine tastings can be purchased at the festival. This is a great opportunity to sample local fare among the cool shade of the Ponderosa Pines while supporting the Coconino County Parks and Recreation Department.

Tickets: Tickets are $37 for an all-day pass. Ticket price includes four drink samples, unlimited food samples, and a complimentary wine glass. Additional wine tastings can be purchased at the event.

May 4: Flagstaff Fiesta Tequila & Tacos Festival featuring Reggae star Maxi Priest

Last season Flagstaff Fiesta’s “Tequila & Tacos” debuted celebrating Cinco De Mayo. This year, the fiesta welcomes musical guest Maxi Priest to headline the event. Maxi Priest is a British reggae vocalist of Jamaican descent and is best known for reggae fusion, a mixture of reggae music with an R&B influence. His hit songs in America include: “Close to You,” “Set the Night to Music,” “Wild World” and “That Girl.”

Joining the FSO this year are ensemble performances by the Curry Summer Music Camp.

July 14: Widespread Panic

Widespread Panic is known as a national touring force and continues to hold attendance records at major venues across the country. They are a mainstay at many major U.S. festivals, having headlined 10 nights on the main stage at Bonnaroo. For over ten years Widespread Panic has been dedicated to making their concerts food drive events. Since summer 2008, the charity Feeding People Through Music has raised over $50,000 in monetary donations and over 6,000 pounds of food.

Aug. 2: Sinbad benefiting the Shadows Foundation

Sinbad, is an American stand-up comedian and actor. He became well known in the 1990s from his HBO specials, appearing on several television series, and starring in the films “Necessary Roughness,” “Houseguest,” “First Kid,” “Jingle All the Way” and “Good Burger.”

FestivalAug. 3: Flagstaff BBQ & Brews Blues Festival

This festival hosts five of the greatest blues and rock bands in one show including Ten Years After, Edgar Winter, Pat Traverse, Rick Derringer and Canned Heat.

Sept. 13-15: 8th Annual Pickin’ in the Pines Music Festival (on sale soon)

The three-day bluegrass and acoustic music festival returns to the beautiful pines of Flagstaff. The lineup, the setting, the amenities and the people make it one of the ‘best of the west.’
