Sanctuary’s guests can cruise in a Ferrari

image002Who hasn’t pictured him- or herself nestled into a plush leather driver’s seat, hands balanced on the steering wheel, cruising in a bright red Ferrari with its retractable hard-top to exalting speeds?  Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain in Scottsdale is making that particular dream come true.

The resort is now offering rentals of an exotic Ferrari California which retails for about $229,000.  It will cost guests of Sanctuary far less for the thrill of navigating this ultra luxe driving machine along Arizona’s famous Route 66 or other scenic stretches.  The resort’s “Seek Adventure” Ferrari rental program gives guests the opportunity to drive the Ferrari for two hours for $299, six hours for $699 and a full-day for $1,400.  These rates are exclusive of tax. The opportunity comes with a selection of possible tour routes, from a close-by jaunt around celebrity homes in Paradise Valley to a half-day trip north of Sanctuary to Cave Creek and Bartlett Lake (4 hours, 100 miles).  Full-day suggested tours include roundtrips to Sedona (8 hours, 288 miles) and to Flagstaff via Route 66 and returning through Tonto National Forest (8 hours, 375 miles). Two-hour trips have a 100 mile distance limit and six-hour trips have a 200 mile distance limit, with each additional mile costing $2.50.  They can be booked between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.  Full-day trips, available from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., are limited to 400 miles, with each additional mile at $2.50.

For the “impossible to shop for,” Sanctuary’s Ferrari Casita Package is the obvious choice this holiday season.  It includes a 20% discount on a two-night stay, a half-day rental of a Ferrari California, and a delicious picnic lunch from elements restaurant for the road. The package starts at $1,383.88 based on double occupancy, including tax and excluding resort fee and gratuity.

Those eligible to rent the Ferrari must be a Sanctuary guest, 25 years or older, with a valid driver’s license and major credit card in the same name as the license.  They must also have proof of full coverage auto insurance.  One additional driver is permitted with the same criteria applying.  A security deposit of $1,000 will be required along with the rental fee.

Sanctuary Offers Holiday Perks in Sunny Scottsdale

Those keen to skip the chaos of “tis the season” need look no further than Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain. The award-winning Scottsdale resort, with mountain views that are serious competition for snow covered peaks, announces a host of options for holiday revelry.

Sanctuary will offer two ways to enjoy Thanksgiving on Nov. 27 (reservations required):

• A Holiday Buffet in The Views ballroom (11 a.m. – 4 p.m.), complete with live entertainment, will feature action and carving stations along with a variety of beginnings (such as refreshing salads, artisan breads and assorted cheeses) and an array of Thanksgiving desserts. The buffet is $55 per adult and $20 for children ages 6-12, plus tax and gratuity.

• Thanksgiving Dinner at elements (12 – 9 p.m.) will be a four-course New American prix-fixe feast. Beginnings include savory fall flavors like Roasted Butternut Squash Soup, Pumpkin Gnocchi, and Duck Confit and Sweet Potato Hash. Entrée selections include Traditional Turkey Dinner with all the fixings, Roasted Halibut with white bean & chorizo stew, baby clams and, smoked paprika aioli, and Pan Roasted Filet of Beef with garlicky parsley crust, dauphinoise potatoes, haricot verts and sauce perigueux. Dessert is elevated with goodies like Pecan Butter Tart with chantilly cream and bourbon caramel, White Chocolate Pumpkin Bread Pudding with cinnamon anglaise and cinnamon ice cream, and Warm Apple Hand Pie with miso butterscotch and vanilla gelato. Dinner is $75 per adult and $25 for children ages 6-12, plus tax and gratuity. Holiday packages at Sanctuary carry into the New Year and are an easy, sunny choice this season:

• Sanctuary stylists will deck the halls of its private estates for the Home for the Holidays package. The resort’s collection of spectacular homes offers ample room for large families and stress-free entertaining. Guests will enjoy festive decorations, a $250 resort credit for dining or spa, and a welcome basket filled with seasonal goodies. Available Nov. 16, 2014 – Jan. 8, 2015, rates start at $1,500 per night, based on a two night minimum.

• Situated in aptly named Paradise Valley, where winter temperatures average in the high 70s, Sanctuary’s guests can escape the cold for a Holiday in Paradise (Valley). Sanctuary Hosts Satori Meditation Retreat

For those in quest of a little more Zen, rejuvenation and inspiration this fall, Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain will host its first dedicated Satori Meditation Retreat Oct. 5-8, 2014. Led by master meditation instructor Sarah McLean, who has directed programs for Deepak Chopra and Byron Katie, among other notable figures, the retreat will unlock the secrets to a more peaceful, centered and fulfilling life. It will include candle light yoga, meditation in motion, and mindfulness practices, complete with spa treatments at the world-renowned Sanctuary Spa, delicious nourishment via elements restaurant, and blissful casita accommodations. Sanctuary’s Satori Meditation Retreat is limited to 12 participants and starts at $2,900 based on double occupancy ($4,100 for single occupancy). Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain, the country’s premier luxury resort, was recognized by the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) with a 2013 “Stars of the Industry” award during its Summer Summit in Denver, Colo. Sanctuary’s 2012 “Escape for GOOD” fundraiser, which raised $10 million benefiting Athletes for Hope and UGIVE, two nonprofits dedicated to inspiring and enabling voluntary service nationwide, was honored in the “Special Events, One-Time Only, Small-Property” category.

The invitation-only weekend event at Sanctuary, limited to 75 couples at a minimum donation of $50,000 each, offered once-in-a-lifetime experiences with sports industry celebrities such as Andre Agassi, Muhammad Ali, Cris Collinsworth, Mia Hamm, Tony Hawk, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Alonzo Mourning, Anthony Muñoz, Paul O’Neill and Annika Sorenstam. Activities included tennis with Andre Agassi on Sanctuary’s championship tennis courts, a morning run through Paradise Valley with track and field star Jackie Joyner-Kersee, and a cook-off with culinary masters Todd English, Sanctuary’s own Executive Chef Beau MacMillan, and Phoenix’s Mark Tarbell. Stay-and-Sweat with Fitness Retreats

Fitness retreats are a fast-booming business with health-conscious travelers looking to upkeep their fitness routines while vacationing — and leave them with a little more wiggle room to indulge. Three-day Triathlon Prep Program

Prior to arrival, Sanctuary’s fitness team connects with the guest to determine their current training program and goals. On the first day of training, guests work directly with swim instructor Misty Hyman, who earned a gold medal in the 200 meter butterfly at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. She offers best swimming strategies for endurance and speed in Sanctuary’s 25-yard outdoor lap pool. Day two brings a guided desert bike ride, and guests hit the ground running on their third day of training, embarking on a tandem run with a fitness instructor. At the end of each training day, guests will enjoy spa treatments to restore muscles and joints impacted by strenuous days.
