Food truck festival offers taste sensations

The Church of the Beatitudes is hosting its first Food Truck Roundup on Saturday, September 28 from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. at Church of the Beatitudes United Church of Christ, 555 W. Glendale Ave., Phoenix.

Some of the trucks being featured include:

* LuLu’s Homemade Italian Ice.
* Luncha Libre Street Gourmet, specializing in Arizona inspired food, using local products.
* Torched Goodness, torched-to-order creme brulee, in more than 40 flavors.
* 2 Wild & Cheesy Guys, offering the best grilled cheese available in the Valley of the Sun.
* Q Up Barbecue, bringing bomb diggitty BBQ to the streets.
* Taste Rite, Po’boys, small entrees, side dishes and dessert creations that are made fresh daily.

Food Truck Caravan July Schedule

Each week, the Food Truck Caravan rolls into downtown Scottsdale and provides guests will the best street food, a comfortable setting with a state-of-the-art misting system, local music and artists.  The “Ate on 5th” program allows guests to receive discounts to participating area merchants, restaurants and bars by purchasing food off one of the food trucks.

Looking for things to do in July? (at night, preferably?) The event, which is held every Saturday night from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. on the NW corner of 5th Ave. and Goldwater in Scottsdale, has announced its July schedule of events and Caravan Concert Series, produced by Rock-it Productions.

 Saturday, July 6th:

“Caravan Country Cook-Out,” featuring country guitarist Mike Easterday.  In addition to their regular menu all of the trucks will serve a special “Ate on 5th” dish that resembles a cook-out, such as hamburgers or s’mores.
Featured Trucks: 4 Brothers, Luncha Libre, Great Balls & Sliders, Q-up BBQ, Super Farm Food Truck, Udder Delights and Torched Goodness.

 Saturday, July 13th:

“Caravan Classics,” featuring classic rock by Bandero, a four-piece band that plays Classic Rock.  The trucks will serve a special “Ate on 5th” dish that consists of menu classics from around the world.
Featured Trucks: Grilled Cheese Truck Phoenix, Luncha Libre, Gourmet Command Center, Sweet Magnolia’s, Super Farm Food Truck, Udder Delights, AZ Sno Shack, Brat Haus and Torched Goodness.

 Saturday, July 20th:

“Caravan Duo,” featuring music by Van and Melanie, a duo.  The trucks will serve a special “Ate on 5th” dish that blends nicely together; think things that can’t live without each other like gourmet Mac & Cheese.
Featured Trucks: Great Balls & Sliders, Luncha Libre, Sandra Dee’s, The Great Pho King Truck, Super Farm Food Truck, Udder Delights and Torched Goodness.

Saturday, July 27th:

“Caravan Variety,” featuring EzD’s, a four-piece Variety band.  The trucks will serve a special “Ate on 5th” sampler plate that gives diners a variety of their menu.
Featured Trucks: Great Balls & Sliders, Traveling Monk, Grilled Cheese Truck Phoenix, AZ Sno Shack, Sweet Magnolia’s, Aji Mobile Foods, Super Farm Food Truck, Udder Delights and Brat Haus.
