The cities of Tempe and Glendale are joining forces again to host two of Arizona’s largest sporting events — the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl and Insight Bowl Tempe.

Tempe, Glendale and Experience AZ are uniting their resources to welcome bowl visitors with this year’s edition of Touchdown AZ — a travel guide to the other attractions that Arizona offers during the bowl games. Within these pages, visitors will find some of the region’s best restaurants, shops and natural wonders.

The Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, held at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, is regarded as one of the most prestigious and popular games of the Bowl Championship Series. Its sister bowl game — the Insight Bowl Tempe, held at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe — pits the top teams from the Big Ten against those of the Big 12.

Last year, these two bowl games had a combined attendance of 116,000, with an estimated economic impact of more than $100 million to the area.
