Pima Center, a mixed-use business park located along the Loop 101 between the Via de Ventura and Pima/90th Street exits on the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community, will be the site of a new Legacy Village assisted living community.

The $30 million project is expected to create more than 175 full and part-time jobs. Legacy Village at Salt River is scheduled for construction in early 2017.

Western States Lodging & Management and the Colmena Group of Salt Lake City will develop a 230-unit assisted living facility within the 232-acre Pima Center business park. The three-story portion of the property will include 130 personal care units and a two-story portion will hold an additional 100 units for directed care. Of the 100 directed care units, about 30 will specialize in memory care.

Legacy Village at Salt River will feature the most comprehensive resident care and resident comfort elements offered in the assisted living industry. The beautiful architectural design includes three internal courtyards that will serve as areas for activities and outdoor visiting. The community will have two dining rooms and bistros. A full beauty salon, theater, game rooms, craft rooms, meeting space and swimming pool will all be part of the comprehensive offerings. Residents of Legacy Village at Salt River will benefit from shuttle and town car transportation services to entertainment, shopping and personal appointments.

“Pima Center and the Salt River Community provided the ideal location for our Legacy Village assisted living,” says Cole Smith with Western States Lodging & Management. “It is surrounded by residential neighborhoods yet convenient and accessible to all of the Northeast Valley, Mesa and Tempe. Entertainment venues such as the Odysea in the Desert Aquarium, Butterfly Pavilon, Salt River Fields, and Talking Stick Resort all are within a short distance and we hope will be frequented by our residents. In addition, healthcare amenities in the area, such as the Honor Health Rehabilitation Center and Honor Health Shea Hospital helped us choose this site. The extensive residential neighborhoods surrounding this area provide strong demand for our services as family caregivers enjoy the peace of mind that comes from having mom or dad nearby. “

Construction of Legacy Village at Salt River will begin during first quarter 2017 and opening is planned for 2018. Beecher Walker Architects of Salt Lake City designed the assisted living facility.
