A new upscale, authentic Mexican restaurant has announced plans to open in Scottsdale in early 2019. Agave del Scottsdale will bring a unique dining experience to Valley restaurant goers. The restaurant is taking over the former Butters space in the Mercado del Lago plaza at Hayden Road and Via de Ventura. The almost 4,000 square foot space will be fully renovated and feature an open-air dining room, indoor-outdoor bar, large patio and exposed open kitchen. Inspired by Mexico City, vibrant colors, white marble, wooden tables and ornate lighting will create a fun and lively space.

The owners’ ancestors hail from different regions in Mexico including the Yucatan, Mazatlan, Puebla and Veracruz, which is reflected in the restaurant’s menu. Plus, the executive chef is relocating from Mexico City to Scottsdale to take the helm in the kitchen. Five different types of scratch-made moles, fresh seafood entrees, zesty tacos and made-to-order guacamole are a few specialties, and the vast selection of tequila and mezcal selections will be notable at the bar.

“We are excited to bring Agave del Scottsdale to the community and share what we are passionate about – genuine Mexican food, diverse tequila, refined hospitality and entertainment,” said Hector Soto, general manager of Agave del Scottsdale.

Agave del Scottsdale will be open week days from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. serving lunch, happy hour and dinner. The restaurant will open at 7 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays for breakfast and close at 10 p.m. and 9 p.m. respectively.

The management team plans to hire between 50 and 80 employees for both front and back of house positions in mid-December. More details on how to apply coming soon.
