Ogborne Law, PLC, works in the area of mediation and collaborative divorce, which are family focused methods of alternative dispute resolution in family law.

Collaborative divorce occurs when the attorneys for both parties agree to assist the clients to resolve conflicts outside of court by employing cooperative techniques rather than adversarial strategies and litigation.

All of the parties involved commit themselves to achieving a negotiated outcome and it is agreed that no litigation will be commenced during the negotiations. If a settlement cannot be reached, then attorneys will remove themselves from the case and not participate in any ensuing litigation. It allows the parties to be in control of the process and develop customized solutions for their family’s unique circumstances.

Ogborne provides her clients with compassionate and effective legal representation, while utilizing a creative problem solving approach that ensures her client’s rights, interests, and kids are protected during the process.

Michelle Ogborne received her bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Fredonia and her law degree from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. Prior to opening her own practice, she worked for a national products liability defense litigation law firm and a local insurance defense law firm.

Born and raised in a small town in rural southern Indiana, Ogborne became a leader in her community at a young age. Her desire to help people change their circumstances and achieve their goals ultimately led her to pursue a career focused on empowering individuals to regain control after a close friend committed suicide because he felt powerless to change his situation.

Before Ogborne attended law school, this desire to empower people to change their situation led her to work in a Phoenix-area domestic violence shelter, where she ascended to become the shelter’s director, as well as to become a strong advocate for a variety of community programs promoting awareness for domestic violence.
