Bank of America is once again tapping the technical savvy of Gen Z this summer by providing 15 young adults from low-income communities across the Valley with full-time summer jobs at the bank, as part of its Financial Center Internship Program.

Beginning its second year in Phoenix, the program provides valuable workforce training and on-the-job experience to the new bankers who will help customers use mobile and digital banking tools.

The bank works with Boys & Girls Club of Metro Phoenix to identify and train the participants with valuable customer service and other skills.  The participants were also treated to a day of shopping for professional work attire at the local JCPenney (see attached photos) in preparation for their first day on the job, which starts today. Bank of America also provides them with financial education on savings, budgeting and other key financial concepts that enable financial success.

At the end of their summer internships, they can apply to be among the 700 new staffers the Bank plans to hire locally by 2020. This year, Bank of America has provided more than $4M in grants across the country to connect nearly 3,000 young adults to early employment as part of its overall Summer Youth Employment Program.
