The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, an iconic destination resort in North Scottsdale, has been awarded AAA Five Diamond status for the 28th consecutive year, as announced last week. First earned by the resort in 1991, the Princess is both the longest running Five Diamond property, and its 750 rooms also make it the largest in Arizona to earn the distinction.

“I could not be more proud of our colleagues for earning this prestigious designation,” says Jack Miller, regional vice president and general manager of the Princess. “For 28 consecutive years, this hotel has been the standard of luxury for our valued guests, and this achievement could not have happened without the hard work and dedication of our staff.”

“The AAA Five Diamond designation is an outstanding accomplishment,” said Michelle Donati, spokeswoman for AAA Arizona. “The rating signifies comfort, luxury and sophistication as well as meticulous personalized service and impeccable standards of excellence. Five Diamond properties represent the best hospitality Arizona has to offer.”

AAA Five Diamond facts:

• Fewer than half of 1 percent of the more than 27,000 AAA Inspected & Approved hotels receive the Five Diamond Rating.

• AAA is the only entity that employs a staff of full-time, professionally trained inspectors to evaluate properties on an ongoing basis.

• AAA rates more hotels, restaurants and attractions than any other professional rating system.
