Great Wolf Lodge Arizona provided an exclusive sneak-peek of the resort today, and released details for an all-new slide making its world debut at the family-friendly resort when it opens in just a few months. Adding to the excitement, Great Wolf Resorts Chief Executive Officer Murray Hennessy announced today the 350-room resort is going to open earlier than originally anticipated, with September 27, 2019 now slated as its opening day.

The brand-new slide is a first-of-its-kind four-person, high-speed raft ride called Diamondback Drop. Filled with serpentine curves and high-bank thrills, the slide literally drops riders into overlapping 360-degree coils before plunging into the belly of the snake – a high-bank funnel that will have them sloshing from side-to-side.

“Great Wolf Lodge Arizona will be the first waterpark in the world to offer this slide, and we think families will absolutely love this thrilling new addition,” said Hennessy. “This new, daring Diamondback Drop slide will even further fuel the level of anticipation for our new resort, which is already extremely high.  The pace of bookings is the fastest we’ve ever experienced for a new resort.”

In addition to Diamondback Drop, Great Wolf Lodge Arizona’s 85,000-square-foot indoor waterpark, heated to a comfortable 84 degrees all-year-long, will include a variety of body slides, tube slides, raft rides, activity pools, and splash areas for every member of the family.

Guests can splash around Talking Stick Treehouse, an interactive water play structure with a massive tipping bucket that cascades down 1,000 gallons of water every 3-4 minutes, or take the whole family down the River Canyon Run raft ride. Thrill seekers can test their mettle on Wolf Tail as the floor drops out from underneath, sending riders into a nearly vertical 20-foot free fall followed by a 360-degree loop.  While Whooping Hollow offers a haven for toddlers with perfectly sized water slides featuring gentle slopes and tiny turns, making them the go-to attractions for the “under 42 inches” set.

Great Wolf Lodge Arizona will also feature a massive outdoor resort-style pool for families looking to relax and enjoy some Arizona sunshine.

Beyond the water park, Great Wolf Lodge Arizona will feature dozens of family-friendly options throughout the resort to enjoy. Inside the 27,000-square-foot family entertainment center known as the Great Wolf Adventure Park, families can escape to another world with MagiQuest – Great Wolf Lodge’s exclusive live-action adventure game, or scale to new heights on the Howlers Peak Ropes Course.

Guests can also engage in some friendly family competition at Howl In One Miniature Golf, Ten Paw Alley family bowling, or the Northern Lights Arcade.

Children will delight in dozens of daily complimentary kid’s activities, including Yoga Tails, a fun and creative yoga class set to engaging stories, fun crafts and interactive science experiments. Families can don their PJs and gather at the end of their fun-filled day for StoryTime in the lobby—a nightly gathering that culminates with a dance party to truly tucker out wolf pups before retreating to their dens.

The property will have a variety of suite options that will suit the needs of any size family. Great Wolf Lodge Arizona will have eight suite types, from Family Suites that sleep five in two queen-sized beds and a pull-out twin sofa sleeper to premium suites that sleep up to 13 with separate bedrooms and bathrooms. The resort will also feature themed suites, including the popular KidCabin Suite and Wolf Den Suite. These suites offer a unique family-friendly configuration including a separate, themed sleeping area for the kids complete with bunk beds, wall murals, TVs, and other fun surprises.

As a full-service vacation destination, Great Wolf Lodge will house a collection of dining options for families. One of the company’s newer restaurant concepts, Barnwood, will offer more of an elevated dining experience with dishes using local ingredients and a menu that changes seasonally.  To assist families with food allergies, all kitchen facilities at Great Wolf Lodge are peanut and tree nut free, and special dietary requests can be submitted before arriving to the resort.
