It may be hard to believe, but the holidays are coming. For many, that doesn’t mean it is time to go shopping, it means, it is time to find work. You can expect to see “help wanted” signs for seasonal employment and sometimes that part-time work can turn into full-time work. The question is this: If you are looking for full-time work, should you risk the seasonal employment in exchange for a potential full-time job?

The experts at VincentBenjamin Recruiting, consulting and Staffing, say “yes.” Many employers do transition their season staff to full-time staff and there are a number of good ways to ensure you are one of those who stays on board after the New Year festivities wind down. VincentBenjamin experts have shared some tips on how you can either just find some extra money during the season or how to take that seasonal job and turn it into a full-time gig into 2018.

Tips include:

• Go the Extra Mile – Don’t just be a team player, be a leader. Don’t just blend into the crowd, let your employer know you are wiling to do whatever it takes to get the job done.

• Let them know you’d like to stay – If you don’t vocalize you are looking for full-time employment, they may never know you are interested in pursuing further opportunities with the company, so don’t make them play the guessing game.

• Be on you’re A-game, all the time – Make sure you are on time, don’t call in sick, show up ready to work, each and every day. Make your employers understand how committed you are to the work, even if it is seasonal employment, you may not know where it will lead into the future.
