Mill Avenue Management Group announced that its two newest restaurants – La Bocca Urban Kitchen + Wine Bar and Modern Margarita, both located at 1 East Boston Street on the southeast corner of Boston Street and Arizona Avenue in Chandler, will open to the public on Friday, August 12. Though the restaurants, which took over the former Coach & Willie’s space in the heart of downtown Chandler – a combined 6,000 square feet of space – will each retain their individual concept’s signature décor and menus, both will share the expansive kitchen space, a novel approach and one rarely done – if ever – in the Valley.

Guests can expect the same house specialties and menu favorites at each of the restaurants, as well as exciting new cocktail menus and promotions unique to the area.

Each of the La Bocca Urban Kitchen + Wine Bar, Modern Margarita locations, and Handlebar in Tempe, are owned by Mill Avenue Management Group, who bring more than 40 combined years of experience in the restaurant, nightlife and event industries to the exploding culinary scene in Arizona.

La Bocca Urban Wine Bar + Kitchen in Chandler at a Glance

At La Bocca, the comprehensive beverage program features more than a dozen craft cocktail and sangria offerings, customizable wine flights, more than 30 whiskies by the glass, and even a new house-made cello (or three). Happy hour is offered seven days a week from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and includes $5 off any glass of wine, $2 off all drafts, and $2 off single pours. Additional specials include a “Sunday Funday – and Monday” special where select bottles of wine are all half off; a “Mixology Monday,” where all craft cocktails are $2 off and a “Whiskey Wednesday,” where all whiskies are $2 off.

In addition to the cocktail menu, the wine menu boasts red, white, rosè and bubbly offerings from Sonoma, Willamette Valley, Napa, Paso Robles, Washington, Lodi, Italy, Australia, New Zealand and France, among others. And thanks to the addition of a new Coravin Wine System, which uses transformational technology that allows La Bocca to pour any wine by the glass without actually pulling the cork, every single red, white and rose wine can be offered in three-ounce pours.

The lunch and dinners menus are similarly handcrafted under the direction of head chef Judd Cummings. Offerings range from fresh basil and creamy hummus to savory prosciutto and fig bruschetta and made-from-scratch pizzas.
