Arizona’s own, LDV Winery has announced the release of the latest in their growing line up of Arizona Estate-Grown wines—the 2012 Petite Sirah and “The Signature” Petite Sirah.

2012 Petite Sirah Winemaker Notes:

This wine exhibits our usual bold and hearty Petite Sirah characteristics with a soft mouth-feel and managed tannins. The Grenache adds spicy notes with hints of strawberries and red current. Enjoy with smoked baby back ribs, pizza, blue cheeseburgers, rack of lamb, and marinated beef kabobs.

2012 Petite Sirah Details:

308 cases produced, 78% Petite Sirah, 22% Grenache, Aged in combination of new American oak and neutral barrels for 33 months, Alcohol by volume: 14.8%, Harvest Date: From several lots picked in mid-September 2012, Degree Brix at Harvest: 23.9 and 26.8, pH: 3.84

2012 “The Signature” Petite Sirah Winemaker Notes:

This plush, rich flavored and smooth Petite Sirah with dark fruit flavors, wonderful spice and a perfect balance of fruit and oak. “The Signature” wine pairs well with a chunk of aged parmesan cheese and a loaf of crusty artisan bread or just about anything grilled over Mesquite wood. Or just enjoy a glass with a piece of fine dark chocolate.

2012 “The Signature” Petite Sirah Details:

236 cases produced, 100% Petite Sirah, Aged in 100% new American oak barrels (Missouri white oak) for 33 months, Alcohol by volume: 15.4%, Harvest Date: September 18-19, 2012, Degree Brix at Harvest: 26.8, pH: 3.92

“Great wine starts in the vineyard and we give as much care to our vineyard growing quality grapes as we do in the winery making hand-crafted wines. Our goal is to produce the highest quality grapes in a sustainable manner in order to produce fine wine.  ‘The Signature’ is made from 100% Petite Sirah grapes which is rare and will only occur when the vintage produces grapes that will showcase well,” said LDV Winery Winemaker and Co-Owner Curt Dunham.

With these new releases, LDV Winery has completed their name transition and new branding from Lawrence Dunham Vineyards to LDV Winery.

“The shorter name is easier to remember and during the transition over the past few months, the feedback has been positive from our wine club members, friends, and family,” said Dunham.
