Get ready to dip your chips into the best salsas that Phoenix has to offer. The My Nana’s Best Tasting Salsa Challenge is back for its 34th year, this time with a new venue and date! The challenge will be held on April 14th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and April 15th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Sloan Park, Chicago Cubs Spring Training Home.

My Nana’s Best Tasting Salsa Challenge features three categories for contestants to compete in: Mild, Hot, and Anything Goes. Whether you’re an individual, business, or restaurant who wants to showcase that old family recipe or a Valley resident who wants to sample the hundreds of salsas, this challenge is for you. The salsa creators will be vying for a $1,000 cash prize each day, additional cash prizes, and the prestigious honor of the best salsa maker in the Valley. The Salsa Challenge also features a Margarita Mix-Off Competition. Mixologists from around the Valley will shake and pour their tastiest tequila concoctions to find the best margarita in town. The winner each day receives a $500 cash prize.  The tasty margaritas are then auctioned off to the highest bidder.

My Nana’s Best Tasting Salsa Challenge is the largest fundraiser for the Arizona Hemophilia Association, with all proceeds going to provide programs and services for those living with chronic bleeding disorders. General Admission Tickets are $15 at the gate or can be purchased ahead of time for $12 online at salsachallenge.com. Children under 12 are free.

The two-day event also has a KidZone area and live bands all day. Come enjoy a day tasting America’s number one condiment….Salsa!
