McCarthy Southwest, a division of McCarthy Building Companies, hired Roy Bumpass as Vice President of Operations for the Water Services team.

In this position, he will draw from his nearly three decades of experience in construction project management to lead infrastructure planning for McCarthy’s Water Services team.

“Our Water Services team in the Southwest has seen increased workload over the past several months,” said Bo Calbert, president of McCarthy’s Southwest Division. “Roy has a strong operational background with water and wastewater treatment project experience spanning several states. He will be a valuable addition to our team.”

As McCarthy’s Vice President of Operations for the Water/Wastewater Southwest Division, Bumpass is responsible for overseeing and managing all water and wastewater projects, including estimating, advising teams on technical issues and ensuring the timely delivery of successful projects to clients in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, California and Texas.

Prior to joining McCarthy, Bumpass successfully managed construction operations for several water projects with URS Corp. in Columbus, Ohio.

He has also managed water and wastewater projects in Florida, Ohio, Texas, Washington, Arizona and California and has diverse experience with all project delivery methods, including design-bid-build, construction manager at risk, and design/build.

Bumpass holds numerous management training certifications as well as several OSHA safety certifications. He graduated from Bowling Green State University with a bachelor’s degree in construction management and technology.
