Morning Squeeze, a local breakfast and lunch spot known for its groovy ‘70s-inspired appeal, announced today the grand opening of its second location in Tempe, Ariz. Located off 7th Street and Mill Avenue near the Arizona State University campus, the new restaurant is now serving traditional breakfast items made with fresh, organic and locally sourced ingredients.

Housed in the former space of Delice Bistro, the 3,000-square-foot restaurant boasts a completely redesigned interior. Featuring brightly colored cushioned booths and exposed high ceilings with white pendant light fixtures, the new Morning Squeeze remains true to the fun and retro look customers are familiar with at the original location. Hues of orange, blue and green fill the space and a neon sign that reads “’lovin’, ‘touchin’, ‘squeezin’” greets guests as they walk through the front doors. Just in time for spring, the restaurant features an expansive dog-friendly patio with operable windows for open-air dining and an indoor-outdoor bar.

“It’s been a couple years in the making, so I’m thrilled to be opening the doors to our second location,” says Morning Squeeze Owner, Todd Belfer. As an Adjunct Professor at the W.P Carey School of Business, Belfer—who also runs Canal Partners, a venture capitalist firm in Scottsdale—recognized great opportunity in Tempe. “We’ve been working hard to perfect the concept and we’re excited to introduce our energetic neighborhood restaurant to the Downtown Tempe community.”

The menu will mirror the original, serving up a delicious array of traditional American breakfast foods made with fresh and locally sourced ingredients. Guests can look forward to items like the Breakfast Tacos, a popular plate of three flour tortillas filled with scrambles eggs topped with jack cheese, salsa fresco and choice of chorizo, bacon, Canadian bacon, sausage or turkey sausage; the Laguna Beach Acai Bowl with bananas, blueberries, strawberries, granola and goji berries; and specialty breakfasts like The Belfer Fit Bowl, made with brown rice, quinoa, cilantro, scallions and egg whites. Lunch will be served daily and offer selections of delicious burgers, salads and sandwiches, like the Montecristo Classic, made with turkey, ham, melted cheddar and Swiss cheese, battered and fried, and served with a side of grape jelly dipping sauce.

A variety of coffee beverages will be available from the espresso bar, as well as freshly squeezed juice smoothies and a selection of baked goods. And dog lovers, rejoice! The menu includes four different dishes for our furry friends.

Late-risers will also be able to indulge in brunch-friendly cocktails like the rotating seasonal Bloody Mary or the Mimosa Flight made with fresh-squeezed juices. Playing to the large student population in Tempe, future plans for the restaurant also include a state-of-the-art DJ booth that will play host to some of the west coast’s top touring DJs.

Morning Squeeze will be open for breakfast and lunch, from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily. It is located at 690 South Mill Avenue, suite 110, Tempe, AZ 85281. For more information, call (480) 264-4688 or visit www.morningsqueeze.com.
