Roy Epps will lead The Walsh Group’s Water Division

The Walsh Group has announced that Roy Epps has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Water and Wastewater and will oversee its top-ranked Water Division. Epps will provide leadership across all projects by consulting with owners, monitoring project progress, supervising and reviewing operations.

“Roy has an incredible understanding of the water industry and our customers,” said Heavy Civil President David Casey. “We look forward to Roy expanding his leadership role across North America, growing our brand and realizing continued success in the industry.” 

Roy has 35 years of experience in water and wastewater construction, and spent the last 17 years leading The Walsh Group’s West Water Region. Roy specializes in collaborative delivery projects, having completed nearly $800 million of Construction Manager at Risk and Design-Build work. Notable projects under Roy’s leadership include renovations and expansions at Terminal Island Water Reclamation Plant in Los Angeles, Scottsdale CAP Water Treatment Plant in Scottsdale, Ariz., and F.E. Weymouth Water Treatment Plant in LaVerne, Calif.

Kimpton Hotel Palomar Phoenix hires new director

Kimpton Hotel Palomar Phoenix has hired Wade Gruenewald as the director of food and beverage.

Gruenewald began his new position at Hotel Palomar Phoenix in September and is responsible for oversight of all food and beverage operations for the hotel including Blue Hound Kitchen & Cocktails, LUSTRE Rooftop Bar, banquets and catering.

With 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Gruenewald most recently served as the director of food and beverage for the Sydell Group at The Saguaro Hotel and Spa in Scottsdale, Ariz. where he led the culinary and front-of-house staff in banquet and catering, restaurant, pool and in-room dining operations.

MJ Insurance adds risk management consultant

MJ Insurance, one of the nation’s largest privately-held insurance agencies with more than five decades of success, is delighted to announce the recent addition of Melissa Glissmeyer to the Phoenix office as a risk management consultant.

In her new role in the Commercial Insurance & Risk Management Department, Glissmeyer will be responsible for proactively driving sales and service by providing innovative risk management solutions to clients. 

Glissmeyer previously served as a fire protection management trainee at Cintas where she implemented new safety and training programs across the division. She earned a bachelor of science degree in business adminstration from University of Nebraska.

Former McMurry head joins Zion & Zion

Zion & Zion, one of the Southwest’s top ranked full-service advertising agencies, adds former McMurry president, Fred Petrovsky, to its team.

With more than 20 years of operations and marketing experience, Petrovsky will serve as the vice president of marketing for Zion & Zion. In this capacity, he will oversee agency marketing, focus on business development, and collaborate with the agency’s in-house marketing research and marketing science teams to produce industry research, further positioning the agency as an industry thought leader.
