BeachFleischman promotes 3 to shareholder

BeachFleischman PC, one of Arizona’s largest locally-owned CPA firms, announces the promotions of Christine UlibarriFernando Barraza and Evan Feldhausen to Shareholder.  The three shareholder additions serve to support strategic growth by deepening the firm’s specialized tax and industry practices. The firm now has 21 shareholders and over 160 professional client service and administrative staff.

Christine Ulibarri, CPA, CCIFP is a Tax Shareholder and a member of the firm’s Construction segment team.During her numerous years of experience in public accounting, she has provided a wide range of tax compliance, planning, consulting, and research services to her clients. She directs her attention at developing relationships with clients and other integral professionals in the Real Estate, Construction and Service related industries. Christine is devoted to advising owners of private and closely-held businesses on tax planning and compliance, business and tax strategies, and individual tax services. Her effective problem solving, leadership, and communication skills strengthen her ability to perform, review, and supervise client engagements.

Fernando Barraza, CPA, MAcc is a Tax Shareholder and a member of the firm’s International and Estates & Trusts segment teams. He is a dynamic and proficient business consultant with over ten years of public accounting experience, delivering results across multiple industries. He leads projects involving domestic and international business structure set-up, cross-border structuring, foreign expansion planning, tax treaty analysis, foreign tax credit planning, as well as IC-DISC entity structuring, compliance and planning. He prepares, coordinates and reviews complex tax provision engagements in accordance with ASC 740 and compliance with international standards. He is adept at aligning operational business, tax, cash flow, and technology strategies with innovation and cost efficiency.

Evan Feldhausen, CPA is a Tax Shareholder and a member of the firm’s Construction and Estates & Trusts segment teams. He has ten years of public accounting experience managing many of the firm’s tax engagements, including partnership and limited liability companies, multi-state, and tax-exempt organizations. Evan has an aptitude for developing relationships with individuals and groups from many different backgrounds. He helps clients see opportunities and formulate solutions to address challenges. He enjoys taking the initiative to learn and research unfamiliar subjects. His passion is to motivate others to achieve excellence.

Tech company announces new COO

Provision Networks announced the promotion of Aaron Schweers to chief operating officer. As COO, Schweers’ focus will be in two core business units: life cycle management of telecommunications services and the design, deployment and optimization of wireless local area networks. 

“Over the past six years, Aaron has excelled as our chief solutions architect,” said Provision Networks CEO Clayton Straub. “He has learned every aspect of the operation and will strive to continually improve customer engagements.”

After catching the technology bug early in life, writing BASIC programs on a Tandy TRS-80, Schweers graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Iowa. He holds a number of industry certifications. In this role, Schweers is responsible for strategic development and overseeing the company’s technical service offerings. Schweers will be focused on maintaining and developing Provision Networks’ ecosystem partnerships and how they complement the company’s offerings. Through his 20-year career, Schweers has held positions in sales, pre-sales engineering, management and has delivered complex technology solutions in every major industry vertical market. Schweers will continue to design the superior solutions Provision customers have come to expect.

MacQueen & Gottlieb hires an attorney

MacQueen & Gottlieb, PLC (M&G) announced the hiring of Kenneth Joseph Hill as an attorney with the firm, continuing the rapid growth of the burgeoning Phoenix real estate. Hill comes to M&G from the Arizona Attorney General’s office, where he served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Casa Grande office, litigating on behalf of the state’s Division of Child Support Services and providing counsel on child support enforcement law.

Hill is a 2003 graduate of the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, where he studied taxation and succession planning, corporate and business law and was named a Willard H. Pedrick Scholar. The Tucson native earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in history, with a minor in political science from the University of Arizona and is a candidate for a Master of Laws degree from ASU.

According to Patrick MacQueen, a founding partner of M&G, Hill’s qualifications were just what the firm was looking for.

“Joseph brings a depth of knowledge to the firm which is motivating to many of the other attorneys as well as the partners,” MacQueen said. “He’s had a very accomplished career in a variety of fields including his own private practice, public service law and on the bench.”
