Jones, Skelton & Hochuli welcomes Brad Frandsen

Jones, Skelton & Hochuli, PLC announced the addition of Associate Brad Frandsen.

Brad focuses his practice in the areas of general civil litigation, insurance defense, premises liability and automobile liability defense. Prior to joining JSH, Brad worked for a global tax firm where he focused on tax consulting, compliance and planning related to protecting tax exempt status, including IRS audit defense strategies, tax provision reviews and other federal, state and international tax matters for nonprofit corporations and tax-exempt organizations.

During and after law school, Brad earned significant legal experience in a variety of extern and law clerk positions. He worked as a law clerk at an Employment and Criminal Defense firm; research assistant to a taxation Professor at ASU; legal extern for Justice Andrew W. Gould in the Arizona Court of Appeals, Division One;  legal intern in the legal department of Clear Channel Outdoor, Inc.; and legal extern with the City of Tempe, City Attorney’s Office.

Jennings Strouss brings on new corporate and tax attorney

Jennings, Strouss & Salmon, P.L.C announced that Brett D. Siglin has joined the firm as a Member in the Corporate and Tax departments.

Siglin focuses his practice on a broad range of business law matters involving traditional and tax-advantaged corporate structuring, joint ventures, bond financing, syndication of equity, contract negotiation, regulation and compliance, tax credits, property tax exemptions, and real estate acquisition and development. He represents developers, lenders, investors, syndicators, real estate investment trusts, and other businesses and public sector entities.

Siglin is also experienced with utilizing federal and state Low-Income Housing Tax Credits and tax-exempt bond financing to structure transactions; advising on debt and equity terms; negotiating development agreements and construction contracts; assisting with zoning and permitting; advising on compliance issues; counseling on state and local tax incentives; resolving complex tax issues; and providing a wide-range of federal and state tax advice.

State Bar appoints Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie attorney

Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie Phoenix partner, Marla Hudgens, has been elected to serve as a member-at-large of the State Bar of Arizona’s Environmental & Natural Resources Law Section Executive Council for the 2018-2019 fiscal year.

Marla Hudgens practices in the areas of regulatory and administrative law and is both a litigator and transactional lawyer. She has extensive experience handling contentious cases for clients in highly regulated industries or facing administrative law challenges. This includes handling utility rate cases, gaming matters, tax disputes, complex permitting and liquor law issues.
