Skanska hires senior project manager

Skanska, one of the world’s leading construction and development firms, recently announced that Don Switzer has been hired as a senior project manager for its Phoenix office. In his new role, he will be responsible for directing and mentoring on-site staff while managing the overall project direction, completion and financial outcome. 

Switzer brings over 20 years of experience in the construction industry and was most recently a senior project manager at W.E. O’Neil Construction Company in Tucson, Ariz.

A resident of Mesa, Ariz., Switzer received his Bachelor of Science in construction management at Northern Arizona University. He is an active member in Boy Scouts of America.

The CORE Institute add 8 orthopedic surgeons

The CORE Institute, No. 1 ranked Phoenix-based orthopedic group by Ranking Arizona, proudly announces the addition of eight new surgeons to its provider team.

The new additions are:

Michael H. Amini, MD, a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder and elbow. Dr. Amini earned his medical degree at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and completed his residency at Campbell Clinics Orthopaedics, where he also cared for professional athletes on the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies and the Memphis Redbirds minor league baseball team. He completed his fellowship training in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. Prior to joining The CORE Institute, Dr. Amini cared for patients in private practice in Tucson, Arizona.

Jesse Anderson, MD, FRCSC, a Canadian board certified and dual fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon. He has a keen interest in primary and revision joint replacement surgery of the hip and knee. Dr. Anderson also has an interest in arthroscopic surgery of the knee, shoulder, and ankle, including non-operative treatment options and rehabilitative principles for sports injuries. Dr. Anderson earned his medical degree at the University of Western Ontario, completed his residency at the University of Alberta, followed by his fellowship at the University of Toronto.

Peter Boyle, DO, a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in primary and revision total hip and knee replacements. Dr. Boyle graduated from the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine, followed by his residency at Rowan University, and then completed his fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery at The Rothman Institute in Philadelphia, PA. Prior to joining The CORE Institute, Dr. Boyle cared for patients in Dallas, Texas, where he also served as an Assistant Professor at Texas A&M Health and Science Center.

Ammar R. Karim, DO, a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in trauma, adult and pediatric fracture care as well as pelvic and periarticular trauma. Dr. Karim earned his medical degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-School of Osteopathic Medicine. His residency was completed at Rowan University, followed by an Orthopedic Trauma fellowship at Ohio Health Grant Medical Center in Columbus, OH.

Alex O. Renshaw, DO, a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder and elbow. A graduate of the Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Renshaw completed his residency at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Ohio followed by a fellowship in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at The Carrell Clinic in Dallas, Texas, where he assisted in the care and treatment of shoulder and elbow problems for the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks.

Michael B. Rose, MD, a fellowship-trained orthopedic sports medicine surgeon specializing in advanced knee ligament reconstruction, hip arthroscopy, knee cartilage restoration, malalignment correction and shoulder and elbow surgery. Dr. Rose received his medical degree from Duke University, completed his residency at Oregon Health and Science University, and his Sports Medicine fellowship at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic-Denver, where he also served as assistant team physician to the NFL’s Denver Broncos and MLB’s Colorado Rockies.

Michael Talerico, MD, a fellowship-trained orthopedic trauma surgeon specializing in adult and pediatric fracture care, infections, post-traumatic deformities, osteomyelitis, amputations, nonunions, malunions, pelvic fractures, acetabular fractures, periarticular fractures, leg length discrepancy, periprosthetic fractures, and foot and ankle trauma. Dr. Talerico earned his medical degree at Saint Louis University, completed his residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, followed by his fellowship at Harborview Medical Center, University of Washington.

Nicholas K. Wischmeier, MD, a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in foot and ankle reconstruction. A graduate of the University of Nebraska School of Medicine, Dr. Wischmeier completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Kansas Medical Center, where he was Team Resident Physician to a large student athlete population, followed by a fellowship in Foot and Ankle surgery at the Florida Orthopedic Institute. He has a special interest in ankle replacement surgery, foot deformity correction, sports injuries and ankle trauma and arthritis.

Santy names new creative and PR directors

Santy, a leading advertising agency in Scottsdale offering a full suite of creative services including public relations, social media, creative, digital services, video production and strategy, has added several new clients and employees to propel future growth. In addition, Santy has promoted several existing staff members to new roles.

Most recently, Greg Harwell was promoted to Creative Director. Harwell previously served as an art director at Santy. Before joining Santy, Harwell ran his own company, Harwell Creative, and served associate creative director positions at R&R Partners and Cramer-Krasselt in Phoenix. He was a senior art director at LAVIDGE, also in Phoenix.

In addition, Liz Meyers has been promoted to Public Relations Director. Meyers, who has more than 30 years of PR expertise and experience, joined the agency when Santy acquired BJC Public Relations in July 2016. Meyers will oversee all of the agency’s PR and social integration strategies while continuing her client service duties.

Other promotions include:

▪ Kati Spencer has been promoted to New Business Director and is charged with securing new opportunities among Santy’s key expertise areas including multi-unit restaurants, CPG, B2B and B2C clients. Previously, Spencer was a Senior Account Supervisor in the PR department at Santy. Spencer has decades of agency experience and joined Santy in 2016 with the BJC acquisition.

▪ Hallie Wright has been promoted to Associate Strategy Director where she serves as the liaison between clients and agency members, overseeing projects on a day-to-day basis and ensuring they run smoothly and achieve their potential.

▪ Amanda Hausman has been promoted to Account Supervisor serving as a go-between for clients and internal teams keeping projects on task and on budget. 

▪ Maddie Dawson, newly promoted to Account Manager, also oversees projects and keeps internal teams and clients on task.

▪ On the creative side of the agency, Sam Ybarra has been promoted to Art Director, responsible for coordinating production work, creating digital assets, layout designs, motion graphic, video editing and art direction and working with Santy’s creative team, content managers and account teams.

  Austin Mackey was promoted to Senior Copywriter, helping to lead the development of creative and compelling concepts and client copy services.

  Ryan Proctor was promoted to Graphic Designer, assisting the creative team with various design needs for print and digital usage.
