Park University, which has supported students from around the globe in pursuing their higher education dreams since 1875 from its flagship campus in Parkville, Mo., will open a campus center in Gilbert, Ariz. The University has been approved by the Higher Learning Commission and the Arizona State Board for Private Postsecondary Education to begin offering classes in Gilbert commencing with Park’s Fall II 2018 term, which begins Monday, Oct. 15.

Park University’s home in Gilbert is in heart of the town’s Heritage District at the University Building, 92 W. Vaughn Ave., encompassing 11,000 square feet. The Gilbert Campus is Park’s second location in the Phoenix area and third campus in Arizona. The University has campuses at Luke Air Force Base in Glendale and at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson. The Gilbert Campus is the 42nd location in Park’s system, which includes 33 campuses on military installations across the country and extensive online programs. The University currently serves 16,500 students annually. 

“Park University’s commitment to providing affordable and sought-after degree programs has been central to our mission for 143 years,” said President Greg Gunderson, Ph.D. “With the opening of Park’s Gilbert Campus, we are excited to expand our footprint in Arizona while meeting more students’ needs through the transformative power of higher education.”

During the first year of operations, Park University plans to serve adult learners in accelerated, eight-week evening classes. By the end of year three, the University projects an enrollment of more than 300 students with plans to add traditional 16-week classes during the day. Students will be able to pursue a variety of degree offerings in face-to-face settings at the Gilbert Campus or through Park’s online programs. The University plans to offer the following degree programs at the Gilbert Campus:

• Undergraduate — Business Administration/Management, Communication Studies, Criminal Justice Administration and Fitness and Wellness

• Graduate — Master of Business Administration, Master of Education in Education Technology, Master of Education in Educational Leadership with Principal Certification, Master of Healthcare Administration and Master of Public Administration

Park also expects to have 12 intercollegiate athletics programs beginning in Fall 2019 to include: men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, volleyball, golf and cross country, as well as baseball (men) and softball (women). The University plans to use existing community sports venues for practices and home contests.
