The month of March began with the community binding 15th Annual McDowell Mountain Music Festival, which featured headlining acts like Nick Murphy (FKA Chet Faker), Big Gigantic, GRiZ and Father John Misty on the main stage.

The festival revolved around many EDM acts, but there were times to get funky and folky throughout the three-day music festival.

Here are photos our Art Director Mike Mertes took while he was at the festival on Saturday, featuring Father John Misty and Gorgon City (Live).

McDowell Mountain Music Festival, or M3F, has grown this year by having three stages. Folks were able to enjoy a band at the main stage, before walking past the many awesome vendors and food options to see other bands on the two smaller stages.

The other stages displayed many different bands, some of which were local, but all brought in large crowds throughout the weekend.

Hundreds gathered each day in Margaret T. Hance Park for the festival, which is Arizona’s only 100 percent nonprofit music festival. All proceeds will be donated to charity, and the music festival has given more than $1 million to family-oriented charities since its inception.

The weather was perfect throughout the weekend, allowing fans to enjoy the bands in the sun or the shade with cool winds blowing.

The organizers of the McDowell Mountain Music Festival already announced the dates for 2019 at the end of Sunday. So, mark March 1-3, 2019 on your calendars for another weekend of community, culture and charity.
