The iconic El Conquistador Tucson, A Hilton Resort in Tucson, Ariz. is kicking off summer by launching new “Summers of Gold” programming featuring treasure hunts, free daily activities for the whole family and the lowest rates of the year starting from $119 per night.

Situated at the base of the Santa Catalina Mountains in the legendary Oro Valley, El Conquistador Resort completed the largest renovation in its 35-year history last fall, adding a new lineup of “Uniquely Southwest” experiences. With Tucson being 10 to 15 degrees cooler than Phoenix, summer vacationers can relax poolside at the resort’s Desert Springs Oasis, which features sparking pools and a relaxing waterfall-fed cold plunge. Sun seekers can lounge around with a cocktail in-hand or grab a bite at the new poolside pizza and gelato shop, Spuntinis, while the young and the restless splash down the 143-foot water slide and play in the separate fish-shaped children’s pool with interactive water features.

“For many years explorers have come to Oro Valley in search of hidden gold,” said Ghee Alexander, general manager of El Conquistador Resort. “Now summer vacationers can discover the treasures of El Conquistador and bring home golden memories and – with a bit of luck – a one-ounce gold bar or a year of elevated Gold status with Hilton Honors.”

New this year, the resort is giving guests the chance to test their luck all summer long with the “Discover The Treasures of El Conquistador” challenge. Guests staying at the resort will receive a treasure map at check-in which provides clues to help them uncover features at the resort. Guests who participate will be entered to win a one-ounce gold bar or elevated Gold status as a Hilton Honors member for an entire year.

Guests can also take full advantage of the resort’s “Summers of Gold” programming, which runs May 25 through Sept. 3, 2018 and offers a robust lineup of daily activities for all ages, most of which are free, including:

• Poolside games (daily)

• Live poolside DJ (each weekend)

• Poolside Dive-In Movies (each weekend)

• Poolside s’mores (each weekend, $5)

• Star Gazing using powerful telescopes (Saturdays)
