Unexpected Art Gallery is the venue for this year’s big end-of-semester exhibition and host of an amazing show this First Friday showcasing  ASU’s top Sculpture and 3D programs.  In its fourth year, the showcase is a spectacular presentation of bronze, neon, kinetic art, fibers, woods  works from more than 25 artists will be on display. The event is free and open to the public.

Sculpture Club president, Anthony Banayat, has coordinated the exhibition and has chosen Unexpected for its extensive space and location. The venue on Polk and 7th Ave bridges the Roosevelt Arts District and Grand Avenue galleries. Teams have already started prepping and staging this massive exhibit that has every medium imaginable and some very cool artistic adaptive reuse.

Also, BackAlley at Unexpected – the expansive outdoor event venue at the gallery – will be open with BBQ smokers going all evening for nachos, pulled pork tacos and more.  The Kicks yogurt truck will be there serving frozen treats, and the opening ceremony for the exhibit will feature a drum circle. The event is 6 – 9:30pm tonight.  Free admission.  Dinner, drinks and desserts for sale. Free parking if you come in the back lot off Taylor Street and 7th Ave.
