Windom Security Strategies Today, an Arizona-based private security company has announced it will now start pay for its full-time security guards at $19 per hour – 25% more than the average guard in the industry. As part of this initiative, all security guards and supervisors received a $4 per hour pay raise effective immediately.

“We are making a statement and raising the bar because of how important private security has become, and we believe that the men and women who do the work should be compensated as such,” said Windom Security CEO Dylan Vicha. “Through our company’s career development programming we want to help our employees who are interested in law enforcement prepare for a rewarding career with a police department or other agency. With this pay increase, we’re helping them get closer to their goals and the $50,000 law enforcement starting salary.”

Windom Security is currently hiring 15 full-time and 10 part-time employees, and is also offering health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, term life and disability insurance as well as a 20% discount at 5.11 Tactical Store.

Job responsibilities include interacting with the community to deter criminal activity and misconduct, composing incident and patrol reports and responding to dispatch calls.

Candidates must provide three references, be able to receive an Arizona DPS Unarmed Security Guard Card and valid driver’s license as well as the ability to pass background checks and drug testing.
