The new Deer Valley office will feature 6,100 square feet of space. This state-of-the-art medical office will better equip the Barrow Brain and Spine team to meet their mission of being a world-class destination for neurological comprehensive care.

This location is one of nine Barrow Brain and Spine centers in the Valley. Barrow Brain and Spine, led by Dr. Michael Lawton as President, currently has more than 300 employees across the Valley and its physicians perform more than 9,000 procedures each year. The Barrow Brain and Spine team has pioneered numerous procedures and techniques that have revolutionized the neurosurgery field and through its partnership with the Barrow Neurological Institute, as trained peer physicians in 48 countries around the globe.

“We are pleased to offer high-quality neurosurgical service in the Barrow tradition with this growing neurosurgical team in Deer Valley,” said Dr. Lawton.

The Barrow Brain and Spine Deer Valley office was opened in 2018, with leadership from Dr. Frederick Marciano. His vision for the Brain and Spine facilities is to deliver world-class surgery services, and non-operative preventative treatments to enhance patient’s quality of life.

“The new Deer Valley office and the addition of Dr. Oppenlander allows us to continue to grow our physician base and meet challenging patient needs,” said Dr. Frederick Marciano, Barrow Chief Medical Executive. “It also shows our continued commitment to support our physicians, staff, and the community that we proudly serve in collaboration with HonorHealth.”

Since the office opened, the physicians at Barrow Deer Valley have responded to trauma neurosurgery calls and served patients at two nearby hospitals, HonorHealth Deer Valley Medical Center and HonorHealth Sonoran Crossing Medical Center.

“The patient experience is central to the Barrow Brain and Spine philosophical approach to patient care. The new expanded clinic space allows our BBS Deer Valley team to focus our patients’ experience from the moment they walk into our clinics,” said Dr. Luis M. Tumialan, Neurosurgery Medical Director for HonorHealth Deer Valley. “The new construction creates a wonderful work environment for our staff and a serene ambience for our patients seeking care.”

The new space was designed by AWE Design and Sonoran Crest Construction completed the renovation of the facility. The new location began serving patients in early October.
