Trent Marchuk joins CopperPoint

Phoenix-based CopperPoint Insurance Companies, a regional multi-line commercial insurance company, announced Trent Marchuk has joined the company as Assistant Vice President, Strategic Programs Office for the CopperPoint Family of Insurance Companies.

“We are pleased to welcome Trent to CopperPoint where he will be responsible for leading the new program management function designed to help the company collaborate and holistically execute on our strategic initiatives to drive profitable growth,” said Scott Shader, Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of CopperPoint Insurance Companies.

This newly-created position is a critical function for CopperPoint. Trent’s primary responsibility will be to help drive strategic value and orchestrate complex strategic programs. He will be instrumental in bringing people and ideas together, as he oversees key programs, and works with leaders to proactively identify and address opportunities, interdependencies and risks. Trent will also coordinate deliverables with our business partners, and ensure that all appropriate stakeholders are actively engaged and united.

“As the ‘quarterback’, Trent will lead a team that will help us better plan, design and executive on our strategic initiatives,” said Scott. “His team will be the central funnel for our strategic business initiatives.”

Vantage West promotes Mercedes Eppley

Vantage West Credit Union, southern Arizona’s largest credit union, announced the promotion of Mercedes Eppley to Business Banker. She is among the recent addition to the credit union’s growing Business Banking team as it strives to serve the needs of local businesses.

In her new position as Business Banker, Mercedes is responsible for providing expert knowledge and advice to help business Members plan, start, and expand their business with customized financing solutions.  She is dedicated to help them achieve financial success by carefully assessing their business banking and lending needs, offering professional advice, and delivering the best commercial package to fit their unique situation.

Mercedes’ extensive background in customer service spans over eight years, with more than five years at Vantage West. Through the years, she excelled and moved her way up as Teller, Service Specialist, Financial Representative, and Sr. Financial Representative prior to moving up to her new position. She was recognized among one of two Vantage West Employees of the Quarter early this year for her outstanding performance.

Tometich joins Layton Construction

Jimmy Tometich recently joined Layton Construction’s Phoenix office as a senior project manager. The addition of Tometich to the Layton team is part of the overall strategy to continue to add high-quality talent to the firm as Layton continues to grow the Arizona market. Tometich’s role as senior project manager will add great experience and value to its construction teams.

Amarnath Thombre joins Solera Health board of directors

Solera Health, a leading integrated benefit network, announced that Amarnath Thombre, CEO of Match Group Americas, has joined its board of directors.

Thombre has been a driving force behind Match Group’s development of proprietary matching algorithms and data science for more than a decade. He has been instrumental in advancing consumer engagement and enterprise value for over 30 Match Group brands, including the iconic Match.com and Tinder. Prior to taking the helm as CEO, Thombre served as Chief Strategy Officer, where he championed the use of consumer behavior data to improve matching and engagement across platforms. TOCA adds specialists to its practice

The Orthopedic Clinic Association (TOCA), a trusted one-stop resource for surgical and nonsurgical orthopedic care in Arizona, today announced that it has added six skilled orthopedic specialists to its award-winning physician/provider team.

The most recent additions to TOCA include:

Dr. Roberto Calderon, MD, joins TOCA as a fellowship-trained joint replacement specialist. He attended the United States Air Force Academy and received his medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Piscataway, New Jersey. He later completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Arizona in Tucson, followed by a fellowship in adult reconstruction at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Dr. Calderon was previously a chief of the orthopedic surgery department at Malcolm Grow Medical Center on Andrews Air Force Base (MD). He also served his country as part of the 966 Forward Surgical Team deployed to Afghanistan in 2011.

Dr. Justin Roberts, MD, specializes in treating simple and complex foot and ankle conditions including sports injuries, fractures, arthritis, and deformities. He is sought after for ankle replacement, flat foot correction, bunion correction, arthroscopy, and traumatic and post-traumatic reconstruction. Dr. Roberts attended medical school at the University of California, San Diego, and completed his orthopedic residency at Banner University Medical Center in Phoenix. He was later fellowship-trained in foot and ankle surgery at the Orthopedic Associates of Michigan in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Ashlyn Sala, PA-C, joins TOCA’s Bone Health Clinic as a board-certified Physician Assistant to Dr. P. Dean Cummings. She received her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona. Ashlyn’s comprehensive professional training includes a clinical rotation in orthopedic surgery as well as family medicine, internal medicine, emergency medicine, pediatrics, general surgery, and psychiatry.

Alyssa Tyler PA, joins TOCA as a board-certified Physician Assistant to Dr. Steen Johnsen.  She completed her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Midwestern University. Her broad healthcare expertise includes serving as a cardiology PA prior to pursuing her desire to focus on orthopedics.

Michelle Armijo, PA, is now assisting orthopedic doctors in Phoenix by ensuring patient access, timely appointments, and the delivery of personalized orthopedic care. Michelle is a graduate of Midwestern University and brings a high level of knowledge and partnership to our team.

Nurse Practitioner Tracey Myers, FNP-C, specializes in assisting with surgeries of the hands, wrists, and upper extremities. She is now assisting Dr. Kraig Burgess in TOCA’s Glendale practice location. After spending five years as an orthopedic surgical nurse, Tracey completed her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Texas at Arlington.  She is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner with a focus in orthopedics.
