Gust Rosenfeld adds attorney to insurance practice

Gust Rosenfeld, P.L.C. announced that Megan E. Ritenour has joined the firm’s Insurance practice group. 

Megan focuses her litigation practice on complex insurance coverage analysis and litigation and insurance defense. She possesses particular experience litigating insurance coverage disputes, including those involving breach of contract and bad faith actions. With over 15 years of experience, Megan also litigates in the areas of large loss commercial subrogation, product liability, construction law, commercial litigation, and premises liability. 

Megan advises insurance carriers in complex issues involving first-party commercial property coverage disputes, agent/broker activities, bad faith, builder’s risk, equipment breakdown, extended coverages, reinsurance disputes, and professional negligence. Her trial and appellate experience covers all aspects of litigation in jurisdictions throughout the country. Megan also has international arbitration experience.

McCarthy relocates/promotes Chris Jacobson

McCarthy Building Companies Inc. (www.mccarthy.com) announced that Chris Jacobson, vice president – project executive in the Southwest region, has relocated to Arizona from the firm’s Southern California region.

Jacobson, launched his construction career in Arizona where he led numerous hospital construction projects, including the construction of the $180 million, 470,000-square-foot Banner Thunderbird tower addition and renovation. Returning to the market, he has expanded his construction expertise beyond healthcare and into commercial construction projects and will be leading some of McCarthy Southwest’s most complex jobs across the Valley. Thanks to his two decades of experience in Arizona and California, Jacobson provides clients with best-in-class services through all phases of complex construction projects.

His career with McCarthy began as an intern in 1998 while he was pursuing his Construction Management degree at Northern Arizona University. After graduating NAU in 1998, Jacobson was hired on as a project engineer for McCarthy. Over the next decade, he was promoted three times to the roles of assistant project manager, project manager and project director and amassed great depth in hospital-specific experience, working on more than 14 healthcare projects totaling in excess of $1 billion.

Holly Bullock, MD, MPH, has joined the University of Arizona Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the UA  College of Medicine – Tucson as an assistant professor, practicing at Banner – University Medical Center.

Dr. Bullock received a master’s degree in public health, focusing on international health and working with the U.S. Peace Corps in Swaziland prior to medical school. Originally from North Carolina, she received her medical degree from East Carolina University before completing a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Hawaii. She completed a fellowship in family planning at the University of Utah.

Her clinical and research interests include contraception in the medically complicated patient and early pregnancy failure. She provides high-quality, evidence-based obstetrics and gynecologic care for patients. To make an appointment, call 520-694-8888.

Jennifer Erdrich, MD, MPH, has joined the Division of General Surgery in the UA Department of Surgery as an assistant professor and surgical oncologist, practicing at Banner – UMC and the UA Cancer Center.

Dr. Erdrich specializes in melanoma, sarcoma and breast cancers. She earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School and a master’s degree in public health with a concentration in cancer prevention. She completed her residency and a fellowship in general surgery at Stanford. She also completed a National Cancer Institute-funded research fellowship at the Harvard School of Public Health and a fellowship in surgical oncology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Dr. Erdrich has been recognized for her work with underserved populations. At Stanford, she received the Samuel L. Kountz Humanitarian Award for personifying professionalism, compassion and respect for the dignity of men and women, especially those experiencing disparities in health care. She also was the recipient of the John Henry Smith Award, a Stanford general surgery award for distinguished dedication, hard work, honesty and concern for patients. Mohammad El-Ghanem, MBBS, a specialist in neuro-endovascular surgery and vascular neurology, has joined the UA Departments of Neurology and Medical Imaging as an assistant professor.

Dr. El-Ghanem specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of carotid disease, brain aneurysm, stroke, head and neck tumors and vascular malformations in the brain. He is experienced in minimally invasive, catheter-based procedures to treat these afflictions. He came to the UA from the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School where he completed a residency in neurology and a fellowship in neuroendovascular surgery/interventional neuroradiology.

He also completed a vascular neurosurgery fellowship at the Hershey Medical Center at Pennsylvania State University. He received his medical degree at the Jordan University of Sciences and Technology in Jordan. He will serve as Banner – UMC’s attending physician for neuroendovascular surgery and vascular neurology and also will see patients at Banner – University Medicine North. Geneva Financial names chief marketing officer

Geneva Financial, LLC (Geneva) announced that James Polinori has joined its team as Chief Marketing Officer. As CMO, Polinori will be responsible for driving Geneva’s brand identity, mar-tech development, mortgage product marketing, PR, charitable initiatives, and corporate communications in support of the company’s strategic plan.
