Eclipse Automation has officially opened a 26,000 square foot manufacturing facility in west Mesa. The new operation, located at 2340 W. Broadway Road, expands Eclipse’s overall automation and engineering development capabilities.

“Automation is the future of technology and the future is now,” Mayor John Giles said. “Eclipse Automation fits perfectly into Mesa’s innovation portfolio and choosing Mesa for their newest facility in North America is a testament to what our city has to offer tech companies. Congratulations to Eclipse Automation, we wish you the best of success.”

When considering locations for its expansion, Eclipse Automation was drawn to the Mesa site due to the infrastructure in place, allowing the company to begin production at a faster rate.

“This is a great addition to Mesa and District 3. Eclipse Automation has made a significant investment into this area and Mesa is thrilled to welcome them to our City,” District 3 Councilmember Francisco Heredia said.

Eclipse’s expansion into Mesa includes a capital investment of more than $1 million.

“We are excited to announce that Eclipse Automation is growing again by adding our third U.S. manufacturing facility located in Mesa,” Eclipse Automation CEO and President Steve Mai said. “Eclipse continues to invest in our business and our customers, and we feel Mesa is a strategic location that supports our growth strategy, broadens our service and technology capabilities and brings us closer to our customers.”

This expansion supports the company’s continued growth while enhancing Eclipse’s technology and manufacturing offerings to support current and upcoming automation contracts in the Western U.S. region and Mexico. Eclipse’s two other U.S. manufacturing facilities are in Fremont, California and Charlotte, North Carolina.

“The new southwest facility in Mesa will be hiring over 50 automation engineers and technicians over the next year to further support our customers with quality automated assembly solutions throughout the southwest market,” Eclipse Automation Southwest President Chuck Butcher said.

The City of Mesa partnered with Eclipse Automation, the Greater Phoenix Economic Council and the Arizona Commerce Authority on this project.

“Eclipse Automation’s commitment to innovation and advanced technology makes Greater Phoenix an optimal market for their operation to expand,” Greater Phoenix Economic Council President & CEO Chris Camacho said. “We thank them for their investment in Greater Phoenix and wish them continued success in Mesa.”

“Eclipse Automation’s expansion into Arizona demonstrates our state’s value proposition continues to resonate with high-tech manufacturers,” Arizona Commerce Authority President and CEO Sandra Watson said. “Arizona’s combination of top talent, pro-business climate, affordable costs and outstanding quality of life make it an ideal location for advanced manufacturing companies. We congratulate Eclipse on their growth and the opening of this new facility.”
