The Business Development Guild, a source of education, coaching, and support for the business development profession, is accepting applications for its 2018 Certified Business Developer (CBD) program. It begins May 15.

The BD Guild is partnering with Arizona State University’s Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering on the curriculum, which is designed in six modules encompassing two class sessions of 90 minutes each. Each module is held the third Tuesday of each month beginning in May.

The curriculum is a comprehensive view of the numerous aspects, skill sets and market understanding that make up the business development profession. The program is viewed as a critical element in training current and the next generation of BD professionals. The curriculum is designed to take the BD professional and their organization to the next level.  The benefits of obtaining the CBD include:

• Maximizing return on BD investment;

• Practical applications to daily activity;

• Advanced industry knowledge;

• Access to industry experts;

• Improved communications with the operations team;

• Understanding best in class revenue generation.

“We’re excited about the 2018 class and future Certified Business Developers,” said Joseph McGovern, co-founder of the Valley-based BD Guild. “The faculty is experts in their field and with our partnership with ASU’s Fulton Schools of Engineering, the BD Guild and CBD curriculum are raising the bar of the for the BD profession.”

The cost for the program is $1,800 for BD Guild members; $2,100 for non-members; and a millennial rate of $1,500 (35 and under). Lunch is served at each class.

Module 1, “The Anatomy of a Chase” and “Business Development Models and Roles/Definitions,” is May 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Esplanade Conference Center, 2501 E. Camelback Rd., Phoenix.
