More than 100 local leaders attended a preview and ribbon-cutting event for the new Carondelet Marana Hospital on Jan. 22, hosted by the Marana Chamber of Commerce and Carondelet Health Network.
Carondelet Marana Hospital is expected to open this spring following completion of required licensure. It will offer 24-hour emergency care, surgical services and inpatient care at 5620 W. Cortaro Farms Rd.
Carondelet Marana Hospital is new type of hospital – a “neighborhood hospital” – that is smaller than a typical general hospital but able to provide similar services in an efficient, convenient and patient-friendly environment. It is the first hospital for the City of Marana.
With its surgical capability, inpatient beds and fully staffed Emergency Department, it will be able to admit patients with many different diagnoses and offer 24/7 general surgery, hospitalist and emergency physician coverage.
Designed with a focus on quality healthcare, convenience and efficiency, the facility is smaller in scale than a typical general hospital. Like its larger sister hospitals Carondelet St. Mary’s Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tucson, it will include an ER, surgical suite, inpatient rooms, diagnostic imaging, laboratory and other services.
“We’re anxious to begin providing care for our neighbors and friends,” said Kate Schneider, administrative director for Carondelet Marana Hospital. “This is an exciting opportunity for Carondelet Health Network to introduce this new model of care in Marana. The neighborhood hospital concept has been applauded nationally for its high-quality patient care and enhanced patient satisfaction.”
