OnTrac Relay For Life raises money for cancer research
OnTrac, a logistics company specializing in contracting regional shipping services in the Western United States, held their second annual Relay For Life event at the OnTrac Corporate office in Chandler, Arizona on Thursday, February 23, 2017. A total of 229 OnTrac employees at the Chandler office registered for the event in order to raise funds for cancer research. OnTrac made a donation of $540 to the American Cancer Society (ACS) based on the number of laps completed. During the four-hour event, 540 total laps were walked, which is equivalent to 356.40 miles.
The marketing department registered 21 teams of no more than 15 individuals per team. A friendly competition was created to see how many laps each team could walk around Continuum Business Park. The winning team walked a total of 97 laps and each received a Relay For Life souvenir cup from ACS. There were 12 individuals in the company who each walked a total of 10 laps or more.
The day was filled with encouragement, support, and fun. ACS joined in on the fun to spread the word about how they are actively working to create more birthdays by encouraging prevention, providing support, and fostering innovation through conducting lifesaving research.
“As one of the many OnTrac employees that is a cancer survivor, it is truly an uplifting event to see the entire OnTrac Corporate office come together the way that they do for the Relay For Life event,” says OnTrac Chief Administrative Officer Rick Chase. “Most families have been affected by some form of cancer, and the collective support shown by our corporate office team during the Relay For Life event speaks volumes about the thoughtful nature of our friends and fellow employees.”
