The University of Arizona Department of Pediatrics and Banner Children’s at Diamond Children’s Medical Center has added the new faculty member Zoe González-Garciá, MD, assistant professor, to the Division of Endocrinology.
As a pediatric endocrinologist, Dr. González-Garciá will provide care for children suffering from endocrine disorders, such as type 1 diabetes, thyroid problems, hypoglycemia and obesity, among others. She will care for children with endocrine disorders at the Angel Wing for Children with Diabetes, and at Diamond Children’s.
Dr. González-Garciá has clinical and research interests in type 1 diabetes, especially adolescents with history of recurrent episodes of Diabetic Ketoacidosis (RDKA), as well as thyroid, growth and puberty disorders.
Dr. González-Garciá received her medical degree from Richmond University Medical Center (New York). She completed her residency in pediatrics from Hospital Episcopal San Lucas (Puerto Rico), and then completed a fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
