Two East Valley doctors are working with Radiant Research to conduct a stage III clinical trial that will assess an investigational treatment for Female Orgasmic Disorder (FOD). Women experiencing FOD typically have trouble achieving a satisfying completion during sexual intimacy despite adequate arousal. Recent studies show that as many as one in four women are affected by this condition; however, there are currently no FDA-approved treatments for FOD.
Dr. Debra Wickman, Co-Founder of SHE, Sexual Health Experts in Gilbert, along with Dr. Randall Severance, Principal Investigator for Radiant Research, will be testing an intranasal testosterone gel that aims to treat FOD on an as-needed basis. SHE, part of the MomDoc family of practices, is the only clinic dedicated to sexual health in Arizona. Radiant Research is a comprehensive research company supporting the biopharmaceutical, medical device and consumer products industries. They have conducted more than 8,900 clinical and consumer trials.
For this clinical trial, researchers are seeking women between the ages of ages 18 – 65, who are generally healthy, in a sexually active relationship and have not experienced an orgasm in the past six months. The trial will be conducted at SHE, which is located at 1760 East Pecos Road (Suite 516), Gilbert, AZ 85295. Participants may be eligible for compensation. For more information, call 866-429-3707.
