Sprouts Distribution Center in Glendale supports Navajo Nation

The Sprouts Farmers Market Distribution Center in Glendale and the Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation loaded up a truck of fresh produce and fresh-baked bread to deliver to the Navajo Nation. The truck caravanned with 7-8 other vehicles from organizations across the valley to deliver the donations. 

Leaders from “Helping Hands for the Navajo Nation” put out a request for aid after the Navajo Nation previously shared there have been roughly 60 coronavirus deaths and more than 1,800 positive cases within the community.

Dutch Bros boosts Valley of the Sun United Way’s COVID-19 Fund

Valley of the Sun United Way, serving Maricopa County for 95 years, and Dutch Bros Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Dutch Bros Coffee, are providing hope to those impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. Through the foundation’s $35,000 gift to the United for the Valley COVID-19 fund, local nonprofit partners will receive support for those they serve which is intended for immediate and immerging needs such as maintaining housing, securing food, access to reliable childcare, home sanitation supplies, learning tools and more.

“Dutch Bros and the Dutch Bros Foundation are all about putting people first, and it is evident in the very generous gift we have received in support of COVID-19 immediate needs in our community” said Carla Vargas Jasa, Valley of the Sun United Way President and CEO. “We are grateful for their impactful support, and for their partnership in ensuring our community’s most vulnerable individuals and families have the support they need during this time.”

The gift is part of a larger $1 million commitment made by the Dutch Bros Foundation to assist organizations in its seven operating states. Partnering with United Way allowed the donation to make an immediate impact in areas hit hardest by COVID-19.

“We know how fortunate we are to be in a position to support our friends, families and communities,” said Katie Hutchinson, vice president of philanthropy at Dutch Bros Coffee. “We’re all working to find ways to make a difference during these difficult times. We’re grateful for the opportunity to work with United Way to do what is at the heart of our company- making a massive difference and helping people.”

Banner|Aetna delivers snack drops at 13 Valley hospitals

This week Banner|Aetna staff members made rounds to 13 Banner Health hospitals across the Valley to deliver more than 7,500 snack baskets to help fuel essential health care heroes who are working tirelessly to keep our community healthy.
