Polsinelli Shughart Shareholder Melissa Ho was recognized by the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) as a “Best Under 40.” The NAPABA recognized Ho at its national convention in Washington, D.C., on November 16. Ho practices in the firm’s White Collar Defense and Government Investigations Practice in its Phoenix office.
“It is tremendous honor to be professionally recognized by the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association for the work I have accomplished as an attorney,” Ho said. “I am humbled to be recognized among judges, law partners and other practitioners who have contributed to the legal profession.”
The NAPABA celebrates how far Asian Pacific Americans have progressed in their quest for advancement and how Asian Pacific American attorneys have contributed to, and embodied, that progress. Where once their efforts revolved around ensuring basic civil rights, they now have evolved to include succeeding at the highest levels in business, law and politics.
Ho advises her clients in all stages of litigation, including pre-indictment, post-indictment and appellate review. Her areas of practice include government investigations and white-collar criminal defense. She brings experience representing and advising individuals and corporations who are the target of complex governmental and regulatory investigations, as well as handling parallel civil litigation matters, administrative law proceedings and professional licensing board matters.
Ho earned her J.D. from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law, and B.S., with honors, and B.A. from Arizona State University. She holds leadership positions in a wide variety of legal and civic organizations at all levels, including city, county and state levels. Additionally, Ms. Ho is a registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, a former felony crimes prosecutor and is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese Chinese. She is involved with Mackrell International, for clients with international matters, and has access to and relationships with law firms all over the world.
