Top Arizona executive: M. Gayle Packer, president and CEO

What it does: Consulting engineering firm

Community impact: In December 2021, Terracon became the first commercial customer to contribute $10,000 to the Salt Project’s(SRP) Healthy Forest Initiative to help with reducing wildfire risk and restoring the forested watersheds that provide water to about half of the Valley. The company’s Tempe office also partnered with the Salvation Army to collect cases of 16.9-ounce water bottles to support the Extreme Heat Emergency Plan, collecting 416 cases of water to support their initiative.

Workplace culture: Terracon was a finalist for Healthiest Employer of 2022 and was also named a finalist in 2023. The finalists are scored on a wellness program’s culture and leadership commitment, foundational components, strategic planning, communication and marketing, programming and interventions, and reporting and analysis.
